Scooter RBI double scored Cozart in the 1st.

Now two outs in the top of the 4th, still 1-0 Reds.

Poor baserunning by Cozart as he is thrown out at 3rd on Votto's single to RF.

Stephens was throwing 95 in the first two innings. I don't recall seeing that kind of velocity last inning. Is it by choice or is he having trouble maintaining velocity?

Wondering the same thing. BUT (!) I don't expect too much out of Stephens. A 4.05 ERA? Sign me up for that!

Votto's quest for 100 RBI has slowed to a painful crawl again this year. Like Billy's attempts to finally lead the league in SB. Fastest guy around and gets tons of plate appearances but still can't stay around long enough to win it.

Saw one that inning. Still think he would be better served to throw more hard FB's.

Of course. And it's not on Price. It's the team that will find a way to lose a lot even with when they put their best players in the position to win. Complete breakdown of everything the last week.

Was a bit worried they would finish the season in a blaze of glory and that would foolishly influence their winter decisions. I should have known better. But I suspect they'll come up with some other reason to stand pat.

Today's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Jackson Stephens, who pitched 6 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 3 K's and 2 BB's in a no-decision, and also was 1-for-2 with a run scored.

The Reds clinch their third straight 90-loss season. Other than 2015-17, the only streak of consecutive 90-loss seasons in club history was 1930-34.

It's been 83 years since the Reds have been this inept.

75 innings and multiple 6 out saves is a lot of work for a guy in a meaningless season. never saw the point of it.

Good to we are experiencing the worst era in Reds baseball since WWII. I guess this is just payback since I was able to enjoy their best era in the 70's.

I have a scoring question. On the wacky play, in the box score Billy was credited with a steal of 2B and then a CS at home. How could that be?

No, he was originally credited with a SB of 2nd, and then advance to 3rd and home on the E. It was then changed to a CS of 2nd on the rundown, then a three-base error allowing him to score.

I was looking at this box score which makes no sense.

The explanation you give makes more sense. Although run downs should result in an out. I am not sure how a scorer can presume it should have. If Hamilton had been picked off and made it to second ahead of the throw, it would have been a SB. Suppose they had made several throws and he had safely reached second, would that have been a SB? I think he would have. I think because the throw to the pitcher was wide, Hamilton was assumed to be caught stealing. I am grappling with the logic.
