#Reds have had 3 players reach 95+ RBI in a year thrice in their history: 1953, 1954, 1955. Scooter needs 1 RBI for 2017 to join that group.

Joel Luckhaupt‏ @jluckhaupt 18h18 hours ago

Votto is now 3 RBI from a 100/100/300/300 season.

Gennett can also take over the team lead in RBI with 4 RBI
http://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/batting/_/name/cin/cat/RBIs

Reds are 1 Cozart homer from becoming the 2nd MLB team in his-story to have 6 guys with 25+ homers. (I believe it is a Rangers team which did this but I can't find it right now.)

Would have liked to see Winker and/or Ervin get a start.

Votto takes care of the RBI on his own.

Joey could have made the DP a lot easier for everyone if he just uses proper footwork and gets his foot on the inside corner of the bag. 2nd time this week he shows his weakness at that -- cost Scooter an error on the first one on which he didn't get his foot on the outside corner.

THom is disgusted that Homer walked Thames on a 3-2 pitch with two outs and nobody on in a 6-0 game.

Thom is impressed by all the retired numbers for MIL. Let's see there, there's Yount, Molitor and Uecker who is a broadcaster. Tremendous amount of numbers, The best numbers.

Gotta love the misfortune of having to sit Cozart there and have Peraza do what Peraza does.

They have also retired:

#34 for Rollie Fingers
#44 for Hank Aaron (primarily for his career as a Milwaukee Brave)
#1 for Bud Selig (I [bleep] you not)

Nice throw, Billy. Outfield assist No. 40 this season. Guns down a runner at the plate to preserve the shutout.

Price in pregame interview:
"(Young pitchers) throwing in the bullpen with Mac Jenkins and Ted Power watching is priceless. "
Now that is Priceless.

Great job by Tucker incorporating the momentum of the throw into the swipe tag for the out. Could have had a couple more outs on plays like that this year if it hadn't been for the catch stopping the momentum of the throw then a lunge tag attempt that was too late. Of course it depends a lot on the hop of the ball.

Billy does a great job with those throws which can be tough since the mound is in the way.

Why is Bailey still pitching with 110 pitches in a meaningless game in late September with a bullpen full of arms? He's got a little bit of an injury history and a somewhat costly contract going forward.

Bryan Price at long last gets the 7 innings from Homer that he was willing to lose multiple games in order to attain.

I hope it's his last start as the reason or else it is Priceless.

This doesn't erase the sting of 1999, but it feels good to deal MIL a big blow if we can finish this one off.

Have to be glad for Bailey finally getting through seven innings.

He obviously wanted it, he seemed unhappy when the inning was prolonged by the HBP (which appeared over the plate).

A high note going into the off-season for Homer, nice outing, seven scoreless.

He may be at a point where he wants to stretch it out a bit and see what's in the tank.

The whole 110-pitch thing (or whatever number we choose to focus on) has been debunked by sports physiologists. It's completely arbitrary and meaningless to health (if not effectiveness).

We've had more pitchers hurt themselves in their first 30 pitches than their last 30 over the years.

Tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Homer Bailey, who pitched 7 innings allowing no runs on 4 hits with 4 K's to get the win, and also was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Sounded like a nice game from Homer. Let's hope that is sign of things to come in 2018.

I watched the first couple of innings of the Brewers network. They thought Bailey has good stuff but the command hadn't been there. If Bailey can get consistency on that elusive command issue he will be just fine. We will have to wait until 2018 to see if that happens now.
