That lineup doesn't tell us anything about what Senzel is doing

True but we all need to get into posting shape and sarcasm is important to get right.

I know it's only spring training, and I'm sure there's a good reason, but seeing the line "Hamilton, DH" made my eyes burn...

Good reason: teams have to use a certain number of "regulars" in spring training games. This allows BH to hit without having him play in the field two days in a row at the start of spring.

As far as I know they are only on WLW today. Hope someone else can help you.

Probably not something you want to do, but I subscribe every year to At Bat Premium. It’s $20 for the year and you can listen to the home or away broadcast of any MLB game.

Pretty great stuff, especially if you follow more than one non-local team.

I enjoy occasionally listening to the other team’s feed to get their perspective on the team.

Is it acceptable to root against Reds players in spring training? Like, can I root against Billy so that he’s less likely to lead off during the season?

Maybe the only way the Reds give up on him hitting leadoff is if fails miserably during spring training.

Cody Reed getting lit up. :/

2 innings, 5 hits, 0 walks 2 strikeouts, 4 earned runs. At least no walks...

to me, it's obvious that his biggest problem is nerves/anxiety or something like that. I'm not saying that's what was going on today because I'd hate to believe that he was really nervous pitching in a spring training game in late February.

I didn’t mean to like that. I meant to respond and say I can’t imagine that he can have another like that and make the team. This outing opens the door further for Oliver Perez and [insert name of the left handed non roster invitee that I’ve already forgotten].

I remember last year there was a lot of talk about how he might just sneak into the rotation if he had a good final start. He got absolutely blown the hell up by the Giants with multiple home runs.

I've followed Reed closely since we acquired him and truly believed he was poised for great things. But man, I'm really losing hope.

Same here. He's an incredibly frustrating pitcher. He has such potential, but man he cannot keep it together. I hope today was just a fluke.

It's not just Reed, but he is kind of a microcosm of why I think changing the coaching staff including the manager could help. It's not like he and the other kids who have gotten kicked around could do worse under new coaches.

Mason Williams (who I didn't know had been signed by the Reds) was hit in the face by a foul ball and taken to the hospital

I've said for two years the Reds really need to revamp their entire approach to pitching development.

Even though he finished the season with them, I still managed to forget that Mike Leake is a Mariner.

About 2 weeks ago, the mobile MLB game I play gifted me a premium draft, and I got a special edition of Mike Leake in a Mariners uniform. I genuinely did a double take and had to visit b-ref to remind myself that, yes, that really DID happen last year. And Leake pitched well enough to earn a "The Stars of September" card for it in this game.

Needless to say, while this version of Leake wasn't, technically, a Red, he still looks good wearing a Reds uniform when I put him into my line-up, which in turn brings me closer to the day when I don't have to trot out a special edition Scott Feldman in my starting rotation.

Although I had never heard of him before yesterday, I am now ready to name Rosell Hernandez the Opening Day center fielder.

I've said it for yrs and I'll say it again here: It's not nerves, lack of experience or any of the above with Cody Reed. Unless he develops another pitch he does not have the stuff to succeed in the big leagues. He needs a pitch that'll move in towards LH hitters. He throws at "hitter's speed" (mid 90s) and his pitches are either straight or move in towards a RH hitter. He doesn't have much of an off speed pitch either. He needs to learn proficiency with a change up or a cutter. Unless this happens, he can't help us. He's a batting tee.
