Wouldn't be shocked to see this lineup order after the Reds feel satisfied with Senzel's service time issues.

Votto HBP looked like on his elbow

weirdly, Elizalde was just hit in the other game

First inning of first televised spring training game, and I have had quite enough of Thom Brennaman for 2018.

I'm as over Billy Hamilton as the next guy but the disgust he had for Billy'st at-bat was eye-roll worthy. Who cares that struck out trying to bunt? It's spring training.

He's the voice of the fans...who comment on Facebook and get upset about things like this

good 2 innings from Bailey (I'm assuming he's done).

That was an absolutely filthy breaking ball from bailey for his 3rd K in his two innings of work. That was a really heartening start to the spring for him.

In the other game, Winker singled in the second and then Suarez homered - reds are up 4-0 in that one.

All I can focus on in that game is Luis Castillo's health.

After a single - six outs from him in two scoreless innings. The weird elbow conspiracy theorists in the main thread presumably kicking puppies in frustration.

Hernandez relieves Homer in Goodyear. Hernandez gives up a solo blast. Absolutely great interview with Votto. He is allowing Jim Day to tell him where to hit the ball next time up. Day wants him to pull the ball.

Votto wants to start a segment called "Gym Day with Jim Day" where they both work out. Jim Day says I'm not sure I can pull off the tank top, and Votto asks "Is it a nipple thing?"

Votto bats next inning.

Jim Day interviewing Votto. Votto asked him where he should hit the ball next, and Jim says to pull it down the right field line. Votto is not happy.

Also, if you ever wanted to hear Votto say the word "nipple" then he just made your day.

And Votto rejects Jim's request, and tells him he'll place the ball somewhere in the middle of the field

I like Votto's idea of a pregame segment called 'Gym day with Jim Day'...

Votto lies. He didn't hit the ball up the middle, he walked

Because the last few spring trainings have me constantly fearing the worst.

I turned it on as soon as he started ranting about Trevor Bauers post season comment about not being slave to results. My ears are still bleeding.

Pitching health is probably the single most important thing that will determine the success of the club in 2018.

I especially liked when he mentioned that he personally knows a LOT of fans in Cleveland who did not appreciate what Bauer said.

“Not a slave to results” is not that different from “the best relievers have no memory.”

Joe Mantiply had an impressive 8 pitch inning.

Seems like a name ripe for creative nicknames.

Bailey's first inning was exceptional, but I didn't think his 2nd inning was all that great. A couple of those balls were stung.

That said, he was around the plate with just about everything, and that was really nice to see. The Indians were consistently late on his fastball too. While that might be laid at the feet of first week live pitching, it might also be that Bailey's got some more oomph on that fastball. (Or at least some more movement.)

I'm confused, I thought that under the new spring training rules, Votto gets to hit until he hits a homer to win the game.

Reds go down 8-5 to the Chisox in the SS game. Some guy named Vance Worley gets lit up for 6 hits, 5 ER in 1.1 innings. Amir Garrett with 2 scoreless innings and 4 Ks. Suarez and Aristides Aquino hit HRs.
