Stephenson walks the leadoff hitter on 4 pitches. The second batter works a full count. Then a strike'em out, throw'em out gets two outs. Stephenson strikes out the next batter on 3 pitches. Nice throw by Mesoraco.

Bob Steve losses the leadoff hitter on 4 pitches to a walk, then gets ahead 0-2 before coming back to 3-2. Get a strike 'em out, throw 'em out on his next pitch, then strikes out the 3rd hitter on 3 pitches to get to the bottom of the 1st.

What (^) he said, only quicker.

Ervin strikes out swinging. Sweeney works a walk, and scoots around to third on a terrible pickoff attempt. And then Mr. TOOTBLAN rears his ugly head. A soft liner to second and Sweeney is off to the races. Double play. Inning over.

Stephenson strikes out his third batter in succession to lead things off in the top of the second. Avila then leaves the ballpark. 1-0 D'Backs.

Price indicated DeSclafani will pitch tomorrow. He intimated that Finnegan could pitch on Wednesday, not committing to Brandon starting nor coming out of the pen.

Cron singles. Hazelbaker goes deep. 3-0. Same as it ever was.

Olympic slopestyle skier (whatever that means), Nick Goepper, will throw out the Opening Day first pitch. He bronze-medaled in each of the last two Olympiads (Sochi and Pyeonchang (?)).

Stephenson racks up his 4th K. And is immediately lifted by the Reds manager. 1.2 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 2 HR.

Tanner Rainey on in relief. He just lit the radar gun up to the tune of 96. GM, GA and GN.

Reds go quickly and quietly in the bottom of the second. Mesoraco strikes out. Schebler strikes out. Dilson Herrera pops out to the catcher.

Rainey yoyoes in the top of the third: K, BB, K, BB, GO.

I think Brantley is a much-improved play-by-play guy. Of course, he had plenty of room for improvement.

You can't spell Kivlehan without a K. One down. Rosell Herrera steps to the plate. Rosell follows suit. Marty and Cowboy talking food. Surprise!

12 Ks combined so far for the 2 teams in the bottom of the third. Aquino isn't going to be left out. He strikes out as well, a slider well outside the strike zone.

Demon Head making his spring training debut. And he fans the first hitter to face him. Nice sliding catch by Aquino on a liner. 2 down. Aquino comes racing in on a high pop for out number 3.

Rosell Herrera is getting a lot of at bats this spring. I wonder if they’re seriously giving him a look. It looks like he can play all the OF, SS, and 3B. But it doesn’t look like he plays much SS or CF. Is he a butcher at those two?

It means he struck out on 3 pitches. It happened to me so often in Little League, that they started to call me Irene.

And Senzel singles in the Reds first run of the day in the bottom half of the sixth. 4-1 Arizona.

De Paula worked a scoreless sixth for the Good Guys.

Jose Reyes will try the seventh. And he gets the initial batter he faces to go down swinging at a breaking ball. Swing and a miss. 2 batters faced, 2 Ks. Per Cowboy, good change, good breaking pitching, sinking fastball 92-93.
Nick Senzel picks, fires and throws for the third out.
