Don’t freak out about spring lineups.

thru 2 , Castillo has given up 3 hits, 1 earned run, and got 2 Ks. He's only thrown something like 13 pitches

and he was taken out with 2 outs in the bottom of the third. He was only at 20-something pitches, but he had given up 5 hits. Haven't heard why they took him out instead of letting him finish the inning.

Despite giving up 5 hits, Brantley said Castillo threw the ball pretty well today.

Stephenson has no idea where his fastball is going so far. His changeup is sharp.

Bases loaded with two down. A single and two walks.

A slider in the dirt gets the Cubs' batter to swing and miss. 2 Ks in the inning. Must have been approaching 30 pitches.

But no runs cross the dish.

Second inning for Stephenson. 1 pitch, 1 out. GO 3-1. Base knock on a 3-0 count. Runner on first. Double hammered into the left field corner. 2-0 Cubbies. Another 3 ball, 0 strike count. Third walk of the game for Robert. Single loads them up. Bryan Price has seen enough. By my count, 1.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R (3 runners on base are his), 3 BB, 2 K, and 47 pitches.

That is all for Stephenson, and that is all for me. Maybe next time.

Castillo did sound sharp in his last inning, striking out the last two batters.

Reds get on the board in the top of the 8th. Mason Williams singles. Brandon Dixon then launches one out to center. It is his 3rd home run this spring.

Release the Quacken with a scoreless bottom of the 8th!

or,

Quackenbush (city) limits the Cubs to a lone walk in the bottom of the 8th!

With two outs in the top of the 9th, Aristides Aquino follows a walk to Ervin with his second dinger of the spring. That makes the score 7-4.
