Finnegan gets the start today. I think this is his first one isn't it? The game is on FSO at 3 pm.

Votto clearly benched for the hot Dixon. Is this the end for the hitless Votto? Has he reassigned to minor league camp? Did the Reds ask Dixon to hit more homers? Stay tuned.

Hamilton out due to an index finger injury. Revere takes his place.

1 batter in, 1 run given up on a long homer to centerfield.

Inauspicious debut by Finnegan as the first batter he faces (Lindor) leaves the park.

Not a bad outing for Finnegan other than the lead off homer. 2 innings, giving up 2 hits, a walk, and got 1 K.

As a long suffering Reds fan, any outing today where Brandon Finnegan's arm is still attached to his body is a good outing.

Watching on a bit of a delay and just saw Winker's bomb. If I'm the Reds, I make Jesse a fixture in LF, work Duvall in RF and mix and match Adam, Schebler & Hamilton in CF & RF.

Winker looked really good today. The dinger was impressive.
But Schebler looked just as good in RF. Two doubles, and both of them hit hard.
So far this short Spring, Schebler's been the Reds' best hitter.

Would an outfield of Duvall/Schebler/Winker be the worst thing that's happened to this club?
I keep coming back to the fact that the Cardinals haven't ever really emphasized defense over offense. They wouldn't have Hamilton starting in CF every day. And they win, or are competitive well into September, nearly every year with that philosophy. Maybe it's time the Reds emulated that.

Let's rejoice! The Reds won a game. They go back at it against the White Sox today at 3 pm.

It’s kind of funny because the most famous Cardinals player was a defensive wiz(ard).
