Manfred should really investigate going to 6v6 to address pace of play concerns.

I have zero concern about Peraza.

I’m not sure he’s a starting shortstop. But the Reds don’t have a big time starting shortstop. So for now, he’s young, let’s see how he does. He’s shown flashes in the past. He was a well regarded prospect.

Fans want to complain, begin threads, after every at bat, every game, fine, up to them, but he’s a work in process and I’d give it some time.

It wasn’t a debate. I made an observation in a game thread about his start - literally the correct thread to discuss his current approach at the plate. I don’t get the need to police that some of you have . This is exactly a thread for discussing what is happening in the Reds game, a game which contains at-bats by reds including Peraza. You want people to say nice things about him? That will happen when he gets hits and doesn’t screw up grounders like in game 1.

Romano settled in nicely. So far only one bad pitch separates the teams. Let's get a couple here....

Tom Servo

I was confused to see 3 walks on Romano's line today, I had missed a two out IBB to Montero. The move worked with the pitcher Gonzalez making the final out but that's something I really dislike about Price and he does it a lot with opposing team's #8 hitters. It's not asking too much for the pitchers to get a guy like Miguel Montero out.

If only he had a longer track record to be concerned from. Look, I know some of you are weird Peraza cultists, but the warning flags with him are readily apparent.
