the tarp is on the field here in St. Louis, but word is we should be able to play with little-to-no heavy rain on the way. or at least that's the idea right now

Or the front office ordered it. Who knows lol

JaxRed
04-22-2018, 12:37 PM
My guess is the F.O. didn't order it. But he's at least getting his chance. The "bar" for success is so low it's hard not to exceed it. Gosselin and Pennington are hitting .136 and .125. If Blandino can hit .250, Reds could pick one of the other 2 to release and get some maneuverability.

So Castillo, Hamilton, Peraza in a row reduces the chance of Peraza hitting into a double play. A routine Ground out makes Peraza twice as valuable as he is hitting into a double play. The Reds have this advanced stats thing down pat.

We get that. It’s being beaten into the ground. Like Winker is slow and he is not a good OF except he is ok in LF but every play he makes is a cause for another he is slow. I mean he was not going to throw out Molina with his arm but he didn’t do anything wrong other than being slow and not having an arm. Even when he catches the ball it’s a problem.

Will you jump back on when he's pitching better later in the year? It's not unheard of for a player to struggle during his second season. You don't give up on a player as talented as Castillo.

I'm not giving up on Castillo at all. He is one of the best starting pitching talents the Reds have in their organization.

But there is no denying that he has consistently struggled so far this season. And it is fair to mention that he has only roughly half a season of major-league experience under his belt coming into 2018.

Well first off I’ve been here since 2001 and I am really no more of a big shot now then I was before. No one cares what I have to say most of the time and I never get invited to the popular RZ parties no matter how much I contribute to their “keep RZ operating fund”.

Castillo has not even made a full season amount of starts. He reminds us of Cueto or for me Soto before he became an ace in 1981. If he was going full Cody Reed or Tim Adleman I could see the concern but while frustrating it is every start that we get an almost concern that he’s already not that good after coming up from Double A just a year ago??

And if the internet had been around when Dunn was playing man you would have heard some worse stuff. Even about Bruce.
