Someday a Reds manager will come to realize that having Hamilton in the lineup everyday is not a good idea.

If the Reds could field solid hitters at 7 other positions (excepting pitcher), then having Hamilton bat 9th in CF wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, the Reds are regularly putting Duvall, Barnhart, and Peraza's BABIP out there which has the opportunity to just kill about any rally.

I agree, it should be an E, but it’s Castillo’s fault. He fell behind the 8th hitter 3-1, then he had to come in, and gave the hitter a big advantage.

Not the best pitching pattern with first and third, two outs, pitcher on deck. Either pitch around the 8th hitter or go after him, don’t fall behind and then come in.

His slider is non existent. Batters are just laying off his change up which is a ball low by design and waiting for a hanger or fastball. With his velocity down it's literally the perfect storm of awful.

I don't have the numbers in front of me but it sure seems like Luis is getting a lot of swings and misses tonight, which is one of the biggest positives any pitcher can have. Needs to tighten up the other elements though (mechanics, sequence, location, etc).

Interesting start for Castillo. He's got his out pitch back with his changeup, hence the 7 K's in 5 IP. But the Brewers, when they make contact, are making solid contact. Improvement, but not quite there yet.

I think Prices leaves him in...Riggleman takes him out.

I am OK taking him out lest a step in the right direction feel negated by a disaster 6th inning.

Doubt he gets 3 outs with ~10 pitches anways.
