Edit: I guess MLB said no to Votto batting twice in a 10-man lineup

He gets so offended if people make jokes involving typos, which are pretty much the definition of "laughing with, not at" since literally everybody makes those mistakes (though not quite as much as John Fay).

The best part is that he made two typos in the correction. Which makes me think either:

1) He’s been taking journalism lessons from Fay.
2) Harvey showed him all of LA’s hot spots last night and this morning.

A RedsZone tradition: Complain about the hitting ability (or lack thereof) of the backup catcher.

Cruz is here to catch and throw. If he can be serviceable defensively, then he's doing his job. He's only going to play when there's a day game after a night game, or the second game of a doubleheader.

This is one of the bigger disappointments I've had in the Riggleman era so far, that was a Price decision sending Castillo back out. "Well he can technically give us about 110 and he's only at the mid 90s, send him back out", despite the fact that his previous sharpness clearly wasn't there in the 6th.

Price's complete line is very disturbing.
279-387 = .419 winning % I imagine the worst in baseball since he took over beginning on Opening Day 2014?
Even his total games is disturbing (666)

Riggleman should have taken Castillo out sooner if he was losing it.

If Luis only has a measly quality start, so be it, he couldn’t get anyone out in the seventh.

But I do beleve some fans are very concerned about pitching lines, ERAs, and the “confidence” factor caused if an outing isn’t pristine.

The manager’s decision should be based on what the pitcher has left. Not keeping a pitching line intact.

Shouldn't it be based on trying to win? What's usually better, a fresh reliever or a guy going into the 7th inning around 100 pitches and going through the order for the third time?

I've been consistent on this, and Reds starters consistently get chased in the 7th to put a game in jeopardy and ultimately accomplish nothing besides, yes, blowing up the pitcher's line. At some point you have to stop making the same damn mistake.

Depends on the situation.

Here, trying to sweep four on the road, I’d flat out go for the win. I’d be guided strictly by what Luis has left in the tank.

Riggleman just seems more managerial. Obviously he's more experienced than Price was, but he's also a better strategist and tactician. He's more aggressive offensively, as the players seem to be running more and taking the extra base. With the pitching staff he's quick with the hook in some instances, but is more willing to let a pitcher stretch out and face an extra batter in others. I especially like his bullpen usage. I also really like how he uses his bench, getting the subs a couple of starts a week, along with enough PH appearances and double switches to keep them fresh and part of the action. (Price never wanted to use his bench.)

That's just baseball what happened over the weekend. Even the poorest of teams will have a winning streak at some point. Hopefully this is more long lasting . We will just have to wait and see. Is Riggleman really that much better than Price, or is it all an illusion? You know, the Reds, for no special reason, just start playing better, and Riggleman is the guys who gets the credit for it. And Price was missing two major players (Suarez and Schebler) for many games that Riggleman wasn't.

I really hope Riggleman is not just a mirage...and I want the team that has won 6 in a row to be legit.
