99% certain Votto is sitting because of whatever muscle issue happened yesterday. 1% concerned that someone in the front office really didn't like what he said on the podcast today.

My guess is that Votto will sit out tomorrow afternoon's game as well, and then they will reevaluate him during the off day on Thursday.

Shouldn't Mahle be moved up to 7th in the order, with Cruz hitting 8th?

Wow thanks....i went back and read the thread from Homer's first no hitter in '12....so interesting....so much talk of the impending post season(very weird) and
"Brutus" was the first to NOT bring it up after 5 i think followed by apparent jinx efforts by the Pirates announcers, ESPN , and then finally Welsh. "Kal Daniels" cracked me up with a post just "archiving his presence"(classic) and to everyones credit no one suggested taking Homer out even though he reached the 100 pitch mark thru 8.....that was a fun read

I was in Marietta that night for a high school football game. (I was recording the game to watch when I got home.) A buddy of mine in Fairfield texted me to ask if I was watching. I told him I was recording it, and all he said was to make sure I watched it, because it was "interesting". (I assumed that Homer had hit one of the Pirates, and there was a fight.) Later, another friend of mine who was at the same football game I was at texted me as part of a group text and said, "Homer Bailey just pitched a no-hitter!" I could have killed him, because he knew that I record the games when I have to miss one for football!

And they can still get out of it with a DP. Roll one up, Amir.

Also, great move by Bochy. A lot of managers dont pinch hit there and squander a big opportunity.

And if they do pinch hit, they often don't use their big bat in the fourth inning.

Why why why would you ever bring that up

There's no question that they are struggling BUT I've seen/heard this said a few times the last couple of days, and I don't totally agree. The Reds looked REALLY GOOD in LA. The little things they did down there aren't happening in San Fran so far.

Too bad about Mahle tonight it’s going to eat into the Reds’ pen with a day game tomorrow.

I don’t blame Mahle, he was under the weather, and couldn’t put hitters away.

Still it would sting to get swept in this series after taking four from LA.

Giants with man on first, two outs, bottom five.

To me it's a situation where they were better then a bad Dodgers team. I dont think the Reds are awful but they are a sub .500 squad still easily

Wouldn't hate getting Blandino in the mix more. But mostly I'd have Peraza work his way out of it, though perhaps with some bottom of the order appearances.

David Hernandez with a quick scoreless inning.

Freud, in 1874 and 1875, reads 5 courses with Franz Brentano in aspects of philosophy. These 5 courses are the only non medical courses taken by Freud at the University of Vienna. [Philip Merlan, Journal of the History of Ideas, Vol. 10, No. 3 (Jun., 1949), p. 451]

They caught LA at a very bad time for them. They are awful right now. Lost to the Marlins last night.

Hopefully with Harvey on the mound today the Matt Harvey effect will take over and the Reds will salvage a game in the Bay Area.
