Brandon Dixon? I like him but he's not "the answer" to anything.

Not to mention Scooter to the outfield...

I may have to go on Ebay and buy one of the upcoming Scooter on a scooter bobble heads when they go on there

Why do we want Scooter out again?

Because he could bring back some talent for an area of need, and be replaced with the best young talent the Reds already have?

At 2nd base? Sure.

In the OF, where he belongs ideally? No.

Ok, mini rant here.

Can we just STOP with the "compliment" for people of color: "...has a great smile...".

When was the last time someone said Adam Duvall has a great smile?

This isn't Thom bashing here. It's across all MLB.

I think its a stretch to assume he is a passable OF. He has played all of 16 games out there in is professional career.

And who are you pushing out of the lineup for him, Winker?

Is he any worse than Winker?

Put him in LF. Let him defend it with his bat.

And yes. What has Winker done to this point to merit an everyday starting job exactly?

If you remember him flopping around out there last year, yes.

I’m not opposed to trying it but the plan needs more fleshing out, and he’s only a Red through 2019.

The guy can hit. Find a spot for him. I was one of the few here that didn’t believe his 2017 was a mirage. I think he’s very capable of being a good bat for the next 3-4 years.

Not bad? Holy crap, it’s a miracle!! It causes this old fat 65 yr old with bad knees want to turn cartwheels. And that would be quite the spectacle.

West Coast road trips are where Reds’ dreams go to die for as long as I can remember.

Former Stanford Cardinal, Alex Blandino strikes two singles in four at bats but in both cases,Blandino is left stranded.

Blandino raises his batting average to .278 and on base percentage to .350.

I'm a Blandino fan. IMO he's the kind of player good teams have on the bench and he still has potential to play a significant, if not regular, role. Before last season I had him as my minor league sleeper/comeback candidate. He handles the bat, gets on base and has a little pop. He's not a great defender, but he can play all the IF spots and certainly provides much more defensive value than a similar Reds rookie, Jesse Winker. I'd like to see Blandino start getting some looks in the corner OF spots. I know it's a log jam now, but if he can add those positions to his resume, he could be a pretty good supersub, something every decent contender needs IMO. It may even be something he should try to do over the winter, maybe hook on with a Winter League team or something with the idea that he gets Reps in the OF.

I didn't go to Stanford. I've never even been to that part of the country, but "Go Stanford Cardinal Baseball" is now one of my favorite phrases as a Reds fan.

OH hum another good west coast road trip. :) 5-2 is a dream. Lets just hope the 9 game trip coming up in another week out west doesn't turn into a nightmare.

Bullpen was lights out again today. May have staggered a little but in the end they got the job done. Harvey is still rusty but he finished strong striking out the side.

Great defense too. Duvall's sliding catch and Gennett's tumbling catch saved the day. Without that the Reds probably lose.

I don't about anyone else but trading away someone who is OPSing nearly .900 doesn't seem like good sense. Maybe for a really good pitcher but otherwise the Reds better hang on to Gennett.

I watched the Giants telecast of this one. Excellent duo of Kuiper and Krukow. They have been doing Giant games for a long time. Very nice to listen to and very laid back which is what you would expect from a San Francisco broadcast team. One of the best in MLB, IMO. This was the 11th broadcast team I have watched on my journey of watching and listening to all 30 teams. So far no broadcaster is as antagonistic as Thom is, not by a longshot.
