I get going more right hand heavy against Corbin but you might as well have fully committed and put Dixon in over Schebler in that case.

Pretty big start for Sal.

Lead in to the game was our terrible performing outfield. I think the Fox producers read RedZone. Though it's not like you have to dig much to figure out how comparably terrible they've all been.

I don’t mind the day off for Scooter at all....just don’t give any other reason. It’s a scheduled day off. Day made it more feasible he thought by saying you gotta have a day off sometime....he’s on pace for 155 games....there’s a lefty on the mound.

Scooter is 28 and in great shape and hitting lefties great this year. I want Votto to play 160 games, Suarez 158 and Scooter 155.

I do like seeing Blandino getting a start at 2nd. Need to learn more on him.

Like...exactly?

Could be some fatigue/soreness or something going on. I assume that factors into off days.

.212/.277/.385 in the second half last year. So that's nearly 500 PAs now of well below average production.

If I were meaner, I could harken back to the sarcastic "Duvall regresses another one over the fence" stuff directed towards anybody skeptical of his longterm success. But I am a nice boy.

A bad team trading it's best young prospect just doenst make sense. They won't be good any time soon so why not hang onto the guys that will be here the longest? Teams very rarely trade prospects for each other and nobody is trading a young pitcher or center fielder who's having success in the majors already.

Not having seen the game, are they overshifting on Votto?

A couple times yeah. They have someone as SS shaded a touch closer to 2nd than normal. He check swinged one to the 3rd base side and last time hit one well to the 2nd base side

Iglesias at 22 pitches after a ten day DL stint. Hope he can make it through.

One out on the foul pop.

Two other good trades were obtaining Clay Carroll from the Braves after the 1968 season.

Pedro Borbon from the Angels for Alex Johnson and Chico Ruiz after the 1970 season. Both of those relievers were instrumental in the formation of the Big Red Machine pitching staff.
