No they made 2 incredible trades with Miller and Chapman and have amazing player development. The money sure helps though because they can cannibalize bad signings without skipping a beat. At the end of the day Brian Cashman is an unbelievably good GM and deserves a lot of credit.

This happens to every team in baseball.

How many teams regret not picking up Taylor Trammell before the competitive balance round?

Sheffield will probably end up the better player but Blandino at least made it to the majors. The Reds could have done worse.

Trammell looks like a good pick, I'll grant you. But I'm not interested in whether the guy makes it to the majors for a cup of coffee when he's that high of a pick. It was just case in point indicating Buckley overlooks or undervalues LHP in the draft.

Blandino did get a key hit in the 6th, hitting a single to go 1st and 3rd, which brought Winkler up to hit. A single by Winkler, followed by Hamilton's infield hit, set up the GS.

If Blandino gets out, Lorenz would have pinch hit, and we might not have gotten any of the 5 runs.

Why do Reds fans constantly freak out about the 25th guy on the roster?

Herrera needs to be playing everyday anyway. He’s coming back from injury. Sitting on the bench getting 3-4 plate appearances a week is an awful idea. He’s rebuilding some value in AAA. Let him keep doing that.

I don't know, lots of candidates for the title of "25th man" ( or weakest link, if you prefer.)

Blandino and Dixon are sort of in a dead heat. Also, Jackson Stephens is right there, and Romano and/or Castillo could be joining them if one or both don't get their act together.
