Inning should be over but a Votto throw was too high to second and couldn't get the DP.

And boy does it hurt. Corey Dickerson HR again. 5-0 Bucs.

Pretty sure he popped out on the first or second pitch like 5 times in this series. It's honestly just funny at this point.

What's really annoying is how little the Pirates gave up to acquire him.

This outing won’t help Reds get a good return for Harvey.

Still think Matt would be better off playing the field in free agency next year - after another year of “returning to form” (as in Cincy).

But money talks, unlikely to happen.

Could still get one more start before the deadline next Saturday. Hopefully will be a much better effort than today

Sucks for Matt. Pirates are just the wrong team to face right now. Not sure why because they suck but they're hot as hell currently.

Clearly the players stink somewhat too especially the pitching. Price gets way too much blame for the start they had. These guys are professionals and a manager just doesnt make that big of a difference. They likely would have finished with 65 to 70 wins either way. That's the talent level of the team.

The Reds pitching has a long way to go to just be respectable. They lead MLB in HR's allowed, and the 5th most walks. Some of the Reds pitchers shouldn't even be in the majors. It's going to be years until the Reds get a contender together.

Trade deadline is a limited opportunity.

Main issue is next off-season.

Deadline is about contenders gearing up. Off-season every team is open for business.

Sure but the trade deadline is when desperate contenders sometimes make panic moves. Reds are clear sellers and a hot streak shouldnt have changed that. The pitching is nearly as bad as last year. Its pathetic.

I don't know if it'll be years, but this is the major reason I want to see Scooter traded. Assuming, the Reds can get at least 1 highly touted starting pitching prospect in return. Scooter's money can be spent on more pitching too.

As one of those people I stand by it, because I liked (and still do like) Winker and Schebler. I just don't see where he could have fit in there.

Also he's really buoyed his numbers by destroying the Reds lol.

Where could he fit in? Are you serious? Go back to the thread, I and others mentioned many many times that the Reds can use more than 3 outfielders.

Yes, I'm serious. We had three corner guys and one centerfielder, you wanted to throw another corner guy into the mix?

Yes then, yes last week, yes now. Duvall and his .100 BA could have been on the bench, Ervin could be in AAA, etc.

He would have made the club better, which is the whole idea.

Reds need to focus on CF. Every good available corner man isn't the answer, not to demean Dickerson.

BTW, wondering if the "Peraza is a utility player" folks still feel that way.

Looks to me like a good prospect who is developing into a good starting player.

Just one opinion, sure there are others.

BTW, during the ASG announcers said Scooter had an injury and might not play.

He's been pulled early in a couple of these Pirate games. Somebody said he looked off physically, in one of the posts.

Wonder if it's just the shoulder which bothered him earlier, or something new.

Hey, I wanted Duvall gone in the offseason. But the Reds couldn't even make a three headed thing of him, Schebler, and Winker work, and you think they'd have gotten a way to get three left handed corner guys firing on all cylinders.

Of all the things to be mad at the Reds about, that they don't have Dickerson is a weird one. Winker and Schebler have been positives for the Reds and have a lot more team control.

Well, back to April baseball after this weekend. I'm glad I didn't have a chance to watch much of this. Pirates are a hot team so that parts of the equation of catching teams at a bad time. But still, the Reds were crushed three straight and that shouldn't happen to even a mediocre MLB team. My fears are what we saw for about two months was really a mirage and this team will fall back to its early ways. I'm hoping I'm wrong and we will see shortly.
