This was a good game for a number of reasons.

But some of the hitters who had been slumping badly (Barnhardt, Gennett, Duvall) came though big time which was nice to see.

And the Reds kept overcoming some really bad baseball by scoring more runs every time it got close.

Really encouraged by Romano's start. He battled and kept the ball down. Showed maybe his best breaking ball of the year as well. Team kept trying to blow it but he just made pitches and the Reds got the win. Nice to see.

Its good anytime to beat the Cardinals 2 of 3. Romano battled through some bad defense and came through the game very well. He showed good toughness through all of that. I hope that's a good sign that he can become a good back of the rotation starter.

Reds six games behind the Cardinals. The Cards aren't that good and I could see them really tanking this season in the last two months. If the Reds keep playing well they have a decent shot at climbing out of the cellar.
