How much did the fact that a Reds fan reached over and if they'd have ruled it a double the run would not have scored? Could the umps have had the leeway to rule it a double, but the run scores. If they would have ruled that a double, would it not be a book rule double like a ball bouncing over the outfield fence, giving them the leeway to judge that the runner gets to score. Seems like it was punitive to the Reds by giving the Phils a run they didn't deserve.

I agree. I get that you can't assume a DP when an error is made before the first out. But once you make an out, there is no logical reason why an error cannot follow that out.
