I dunno... preserving numbers is nice but I almost wouldn't be surprised if scouts are looking at his stuff more than anything. And the stuff is great tonight.

I wonder if teams are on the phone right now with Williams? There was 6+ scouts shown in the stands before the game...have to think the stuff looks even better in person and those guys have already contacted their boss. Terrible no call on strike 3 to the pitcher.

that inning was just poorly managed-- let harvey swing away --worst that happens he hits into a double play and the run scores. riggs is over thinking and over managing. he makes weird decisions that don't add up to anything -it's just movement.

Reading an article on Baseball Prospectus from 2012 ranking hin 4th most accurate at call balls/strikes, at 88.6%. Don't know what's happened since then, but this is ridiculous.
Billy showed a lot of self control after getting hosed two calls in a row like that.

If that were me I'd probably wind up getting ejected.

is there a reason why over the hundred years of baseball history, organizations don't normally bring starters in to pitch relief on " their day to throw"? or have the Reds come up with some new innovation?
