Dixon, Herrera, and Ervin are some deep cuts on the roster merry-go-round.

Louisville's finest pushing for bench roles next season.

Good to see what they have.

I'd like to see more ABs moving forward.

Well, we didn't see an Iggy for Kyle Tucker trade but we did get his brother.
Pretty sure the Reds brass think Sims is the pay off of the Duvall trade, but I think it's Preston Tucker. Wisler too.
From what I have seen, PJ Tucker hits. And with power. He was just roster blocked in Atlanta.
But when he got a chance? He hit.
I believe Duvall will be a career .240-.250 25 HR guy during the peak years of his career. A valuable asset, and he was very undervalued defensively in Cincinnati.
He's gone now, and we move on.
But if you gave Tucker all of Duvall's at bats this season? Tucker is hitting .270 with 15+ HR right now. So we lost nothing. Only gained 2 pitchers.

Also, I am VERY excited Harvey is still a Redleg. He could win 15 games for Cincinnati next season. I love it.

I know I am naive.... but after FINALLY losing Bryan Price, I fully expect the Reds to have this rebuild turned around in 2020.
Not to mention be in the Playoff hunt as early as next season.
But I love to see Dilson getting PT. He is 100% our future 2nd baseman in my opinion.
I just think he will out-hit Peraza when all is said and done, and when Senzel comes up for good, there will be no room.
But the Reds could always play a platoon role similar to how the Cubs play Ian Happ & Albert Almora in the outfield.
Peraza would be a great bench weapon for a Playoff team as well.
But Scooter is surprisingly still a Red at the moment also. Which is definitely fine by me. I just don't know how long he'll stay a Redleg tho.

Missing the cutoff man is bad enough but not scoring on Vottos double was a joke

What a bunch of whiny babies. Snot nose brat kids. Gabbo would be proud.

Mistakes happen meanwhile Ervin is looking better at the plate and yes let’s do The now daily find a way to blame Riggleman for something. A mound visit? How about save the bullpen for obvious overwork as he was rolling.

That outta hold ‘em.

Or how about not just going to the mound. Maybe he gets the out, maybe not, but Homer was cruising. Why make that visit unless it's a "This is your last guy" talk, which it obviously wasnt, because he pitched to the next guy! Ervin made a mistake, it happens!

I suggested Riggleman replace Price as soon as he set foot in the Queen City.

I want him to succeed. Suggested they give him a 2-year contract.

So I guess I really don't want him to screw up. Price would have left Bailey in, that much we know.

They haven’t been awful for the last 2 months. Just a .500 team. Not that I’m happy about it all but this was just a tough game to lose. It’s not like the Cleveland game or Browns versus Bengals debacle.

If you watch regularly and have any knowledge of how the game is played, you have to agree that the Reds are fundamentally embarrassing at times. They make mistakes that well coached high school players don't make. Bunting and base running would be a good areas to start focusing on in Spring Training next year. I don't care how much these guys are paid, every player should come to the majors fundamentally sound.

Your wish is granted

You are comparing 2 months of Cueto vs 3 years and 2 months of Archer.

Or better year, 20 months of Archer vs. 2 months of Cueto. That's 10 times as much.

I hope your third post is a little better than your second one.

Are you kidding me?
Comparing Cueto then to Archer now is like comparing Iggy to Homer Bailey.
Cueto was one of the top starting pitchers in the game at the time while Archer is in the midst of the worst 2 seasons of his career.
The Reds didn't have to trade him to the Royals. They could have traded him to a number of big market teams who would have given more, because they could afford to sign him at the end of the season.

Yes He bunts too much and double switches a lot. But he’s so much better at everything else. Price just seemed to have a dark depressing cloud over him that even Jerry Narron might. MIGHT have been a better option.

Ervin basically did a mini Votto on the basepaths. He needs to make up for it by being a mini Votto at the plate.

Also another positive. The Reds do not go the whole season without a complete game.

I miss the complete game. Can’t really do then though in barely 100-105 pitches too many times and panic sets in when a pitcher goes anywhere past 110.

He kinda did. Only player with 2 hits and only player to reach base 2x via OB% route

Actually it was "2 months of Cueto" and a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. That's a significant difference.

I feel good about the back to back gems hurled by Castillo and Bailey.

Something keeps whispering in my other ear that I am about to be taken to school and told why I shouldn't feel this way.

Did they really put my goofy *SS on TV?

They showed quite a few Reds fans in the stands. There were a couple of guys with beards but I couldn't tell what type of jersey they had on. My guess is that you were on at some point.

Ervin just isn't fundamentally sound. This game showed why he hasn't been able to to stay in the big leagues. With the Reds being down a couple of hitters these types of struggling nights will happen and it magnifies any mistake someone makes like Ervin did.

Day game game today at 1:10 pm.
