They're being a bit harsh with Ervin there. That throw likely didn't make a difference. He still needs better habits of hitting the first cut-off man. Little things like that can be the difference in him staying with the Reds as a reserve OF or being a lifetime minor leaguer.

What worries me about Scott and Jesse is that they become the regular players version of Disco and the Homer. Always waiting for them to get healthy. Always something happening to get them hurt.

Nobody covering the bag on a stolen base

For all the Riggleman love this team shows pretty poor fundamentals still

I blame Detroit and Pittsburgh for not being "1st Place Clubs".

Sure missed those "RBI's" of Duvall, too.

Seriously, though, inconsistency will come from the young players. Schebler's return will be a big boost.

And, that gets instilled during Spring Training.

This series was the Reds telling us we just aren't that good yet. Yeesh, what a bad two games. Other than Bailey's good performance not much good can be taken from this series. On to DC. Expect some rain delays and maybe a rain out over the next two days. Flash flood watches are in effect through Friday. This has been one of the wettest summers on record for DC and it shows no sign of stopping. Outside chance I may be at Saturday game. I put in for tickets in our company's corporate box and should find out today if got picked. I never win these so I am not expecting them.
