I wonder if Billy or Mason Williams will show enough to intrigue the Indians. Alternatively, Scooter could slide into 2nd for them and move Kipnis to CF.

Another GABP HR that didn't clear the fence by much more than Barnhart's. Looks like Homer may have to go the whole game since they can't get the bullpen door open from Ervin hitting the fence trying to catch the HR.

Normally, it would take an offer of a million dollars to get me to root for the Cubs even for just 1 game. I hate them that bad.
But I smiled ear to ear and could not have been happier last night when I watched Bote hit that 2 out game winning grand slam off Ryan Madson on Primetime.
Watching him walk off the mound made my heart feel good.

Saurez knows the rules but was caught too far in on the bunt to get back to the base in time and still catch the bullet from Bailey, so he tried the intelligent thing, to tag the runner, but it was evaded by a great slide.

It's not even all that fun tuning in on days Homer actually does pitch. Which is rare.
But I obviously do anyway.
It's just hard not to think about what the Reds are paying him VS the return he has given the back.
There have been articles written about Homer's contract being the worst for pitchers in MLB history.
His WAR is like -4 since the day he signed that deal. And we gave him 105 Million Dollars lol

You are right on agreeing to disagree. The inches away were more than enough to be over a foot and he didn't know how far he was away and couldn't take time to look with that throw coming, so he did the best he could, which wasn't enough. Saurez not even close to the level of boner that Peralta had and Homer had on the balk by not even having the ball in his hand when he took it out of the glove to start his pitching motion.

Homer with his 100th pitch under his belt, got Diaz to 2-2 with a fastball, but simply didn't have an out pitch from there, trying another FB, a splitter, and a slider. The tried to throw a better slider but threw a hanger instead, and the Tribe takes the lead.

I gotta give Homer credit with the Peraza error. He immediately was upbeat and said something to the effect of "just give me the ball, we'll deal with this..." It was very encouraging towards Peraza. This s something I saw from Nolan Ryan late in his career. Homer is known as a hothead but this was a classy, veteran move

Amir since June 28 the game after he got hit in the leg by that comebacker has a 6.75 ERA, he had a 2.59 leading up to that. He hasn’t looked the same since, still think he should’ve been DL’ed and is trying to power through an injury.

I don’t know if it’s the comebacker, or his hip injury, or what, but Garrett isn’t the same pitcher.

It could be an issue of not being able to finish pitches properly due to his leg but I'm pretty sure it's not the hip since he's throwing hard and not the 90-91 mph stuff we saw from him last year.

That’s pretty much exactly what I was thinking in terms of it being a leg issue, I haven’t watched him pitch in a couple weeks so I don’t know what exactly the problem has appeared to be, but I would think that would cause a lot of problems when it comes to locating and commanding his pitches too. Looks like home runs have been an issue for him again since the beginning of July too.

The problem is how do you come by players that are better than marginal players and hold on to them beyond a couple of years before their market value is too high. I think for a small market team that can't afford many high dollar contracts, you have to have some marginal players grow to be very good, and for it to happen for several together in a narrow window of time, before their market value is un-affordable.
