The #Reds are expected to recall RHP Matt Wisler from the Triple-A @LouisvilleBats before tonight’s game.

A corresponding move has not yet been announced.

Odd third person language for a tweet from the Reds.

I'm guessing Austin Brice, who had to leave yesterday's game.

Anyone notice how well the Reds played when Homer wasn’t in the rotation and as soon as he got back the losing started all over again? Yes I know the Reds lost a couple players but most of the horrible play has correlated very nicely with Homer Bailey being on the active roster. What a joke this has become. Why is he still going out there?

BluegrassRedleg

Unbelievable that we're delaying games in 2018 for BS like this. Call shoulda been "out," and there should be no discussion whatsoever. Just absurd.

I wish the Reds would just release Homer and cut him a check.
Watching him pitch only reminds Reds fans of the worst pitching contract in MLB history.

Literally everyone has made this point lol

I almost subscribe to the team hating Homer theory, which is only based on fans not liking him, just because it seems their execution when he’s on the mound is awful. Suarez’s error and Billy getting burned for playing shallow had a big effect that inning. A below average pitcher like Bailey is now needs decent defense and some luck to make him usable and instead everything behind him goes awful, every time.

I'm here in person watching Homer pitch batting practice. When they show the slo-mo replay of the pitches that just got tattooed, it looks like he's their old coach or dad trying to help them win the HR derby. Straight balls down the middle at medium speed. Not so slow that the hitter has to generate all the power.

The contact play doesn't bother me when there are runners at 2nd & 3rd with one out. If the runner is thrown out at the plate, there should still be a runner at 3rd for the next batter.

It was a dumb idea in beginning of the season. Homer should have been cut before the season started and replaced with someone adequate. I can understand fans hoping for the best, but this shows how dumb (or apathetic ) the front office is.
The only silver lining is that Homer has been so awful, maybe the REds will finally cut him this offseason.. 3-4 years late , but at least we will be spared one more year of suffering.

It was the expected way a team handles these situations. Low budget clubs don’t generally cut $50 million guaranteed players with two years remaining.

So they gave it a try, they DL’d him, he came back, he still hasn’t pitched well. With one year remaining, it’s time to get Bailey out of the rotation and move on.

Here's a list of Reds pitchers that should put on a boat sail as far away from Cincinnati as possible!

Bailey
Stephenson
Stephen's
Brice
Finnegan
Peralta

And then you have Romano, Mahle and even Castillo at times. Not saying they need to be on the boat but there inconsistencies is troubling. But notice this, all pitcher are young with the exception of Bailey. This is all on the Developmental department or the lack of. They should be put on notice!!

Watching press conferences from the manager after games, I am amazed that the Reds' media is so weak in asking the tough questions. The Pittsburgh media grills their manager and that's true of almost every club. Riggleman is better than Price (he was horrible), but never has to take a tough question. At least they didn't play it if he did.
