Billy with another great defensive play.

Dodgers out in order in the first.

I can see the excitement is just out of control on RZ today.

Reds have never swept a seasons series against a team with a winning record. Is that improvement?

Easy inning for Disco in the 2nd. 1-0 Reds

Reds out in order in the 2nd. I'm sure Thom loves that Stripling is pitching. One of the slowest workers in baseball.

That AB needs it's own fart sound. Joey took two beautiful hangers for strikes.

That is is unbelievable.

You have to remember before divisions or even three division you played everyone double digit games. It was hard to sweep a season series when you had to play them 18 times. Seven times is easier. But still you would have thought this would have happened sometime along the way.

Canadiens don't fart.

I'll take your word for it. I don't need to smell an example.

Dispute on a home run. Maybe fan interference.

You can’t assume a double play, but you can assume a catcher scored from first?

Umps penalizing Reds for one of their fans taking the ball out of play when there could have been an exciting tag play at home to see if the inning ends tied or the Dodgers take the lead, or the coach holds him at 3rd.

NC Reds

I don't get that ruling.

Ruled a double and the runner scores. 2-1 Dodgers as they are knocking Disco around this inning.

Dodgers got the benefit of the doubt, maybe because Reds fan touched the ball in play.

Remarkable how fast Disco loses it when he does. Just completely unravels.

In fairness, that's pretty much the calling card of every starter we have run out there for years now. when it goes, it completely goes.

Well, 6-1 against the Dodgers is still pretty good...

Is that because management never lets them get out of their own jams? Or that they refuse to try to get out of their own jams when it goes bad and just pitch around every hitter? Or something else, like they just don't have the mettle?

When Price was managing people complained he left the starters in too long. Now people are complaining Riggleman doesn't leave them in long enough. I suppose what we need is a manager who leaves them in just the right amount of time. :dunno:

Nolan Ferguson generally made our guys look silly there.

Looking him up, I see that Ferguson was a 38th round draft choice out of Columbus, OH in 2014. Now he's in the majors at 22. Well played Dodgers. Well played.

It would have been interesting Monday night what the umps would have ruled in the first, when Votto hit that liner that hit the very top of the wall with no out with Hamilton and Peraza on 1st and 2nd, if a Reds fan would have reached out and snagged the ball just as it was about to come down on top of the wall padding.

whatever is wrong with Garrett will take more than a 10-day DL stint to fix

Kind of a big problem when you're really good in April, both last year and this year, but stink the rest of the time.

Or, you know, better pitchers. And better pitching development from the organization. the constant, really, has been the pitching that falls apart at the first sign of trouble.

Or, you know, better pitchers. And better pitching development from the organization. the constant, really, has been the pitching that falls apart at the first sign of trouble.

That will help too.

The problem is that we are kind of stuck - for lack of a better word - with these young pitchers. I don't care if the whole front office is fired, no new regime is going to get rid of pitchers with the promise of Castillo, Disco and Mahle. Maybe even Lorenzen. Hopefully they can improve but they are promising, cheap and under contract. So the thing to do is - along with trying to develop better - to get them to improve.

Castillo and Disco could maybe use a new pitching coach. Someone to work on the mental approach. What to do when things get tough, how to keep it from going off the rails.

Reds have to go 10-5 to avoid a 90-loss season. It's possible: 4 games against the Marlins, 2 versus the Royals.
