Speaking of Tanners.... Tanner Rainey sporting a 13.50 ERA so far in ST.

Roark is making his case to be opening day starter

When did Schebler become Votto? Another walk...

TOOTBLAN ....

Peraza drives one that Scheb thought would not be caught, but it was and Schebs is doubled off.

A legitimate striking out of the side, not the kind where you give up walks and homers between the Ks.

Roark breezes through two innings with Four Ks and a bleeder single

And Tanner looks great in 2nd. Two grounders a fisted single, and a K.

Deitrich, Ervon and Casali go quietly.

They were interviewing Derek Johnson, and they asked him who has surprised him this year and he mentioned the young guys Reyes, Santillan and Goodyear. I'm assuming that was Gutierrez?

The Roark has another good inning with 2 k's.

O'GRady, Trahan and Siri go 1,2,3. No hits for Reds yet.

2 game threads going, apparently. It's like a split squad situation

NebraskaRed

and Roark is looking very sharp thru 3 innings

Wondered where everyone was... merged,

NebraskaRed

Roark getting a little tired? 3-run bomb by the D-backs catcher.

JaxRed
03-10-2019, 04:54 PM
That escalated quickly.... walk double homer...

Votto says "he should expand his strike zone..."

Derek Johnson saying that it makes no sense not to use Iglesias earlier in the game if he's needed

of course, saying that is one thing, actually putting him in the game in the 7th inning, for example, is another thing entirely

I think Roark looked pretty sharp despite the 3 run dinger.

I'm starting to actually believe these guys. When they said "we'll work on Lorenzon in the OF later in ST" I thought it wasn't going to happen. But here we are....

Who has Okey for the first hit in the pool?

I posted an article from Reds.com where Bell said Lorenzen will pitch one inning of relief tomorrow vs Cle, then play CF for a couple innings. It’s in the Discussions Generated by Spring Training pics news and notes thread.

We have a lot of bullpen options this year. Guys like Krol too. I can't see how they make the opening 25.

I'm telling you the Bats should field a great team this year.

Didn't they call the wrong guy out? I thought the base still belonged to the lead runner?

It's been bad all spring. I know players try new things in spring training. Are they experimenting with non-traditional base running as well?

I was struck by how similar Roark and Gray look on the mound. Very similar, simple compact deliveries, both very composed, relaxed, and both pitch in all four quadrants of the plate.
