I think this one is more match up driven (maybe??)

Kemp is 3-9 career vs Davies.

The good news is Votto has owned Davies 9-23 (.391)

I don’t care for this lineup/batting order against a right handed pitcher.

Four righty bats consecutively in the middle of the order.

Only three lefty hitters in the lineup altogether against a RHP, including switch hitter Barnhart, with good LHHs available but on the bench.

I’m sure there are arguments for it, reverse splits, etc, but I’m not a fan of it.

I shouldn't have assumed that you did your homework Kinsm.

But, then I knew better and checked your math. Didn't think you would struggle with just two games to have to check.

Winker played in the first two games.

So, it's not only 2 out of 2 games so far, but it will be 3 out of 3 games if he gets into this one, too.

Be that Schebler is not anything above average in CF....I’d guess he’s slightly below average defensively, that being said Winker needs to be in the lineup.

Put slow Kemp or meh Puig in CF and see how many runs in costs them.

As Chris noted, the entire NL Central opening rotations combined have three lefty starters. Cubs have all three. Reds won’t face a lefty starter for weeks apparently.

If Bell keeps packing him lineups with righty bats he is going to have serious troubles.

It is terrible strategy, it gives a big advantage to the opposition. It is a major mistake IMO.

General thoughts:

- The bottom third of most lineups are black holes.
- Rough first inning, but I like the Reds' chances of getting back into this game.
- Roark's throwing a lot of pitches. Looks like a short night for him.

It is true so far that, even though the Reds really did kind of get kicked around yesterday and to some degree tonight, they didn’t end up blown out of the game either night. And that may end up being the difference for this year compared to the last few, that they end up hanging in games that struggle in instead of getting blown out, and winning some of them instead.
