Nobody will ever call game 5 of the season a must win, nor should they. However, today is a pretty important game to get a W in.

I'm really hoping to see the offense break out today.....especially Scott Schebler. As putrid as the offense has been, it's almost unfair to zero in on one guy, but.....

That BETTER be the reason. Puig is a notorious streak hitter, and he had two hits yesterday. It would be foolish and ignorant to "rest" a healthy Yasiel Puig today.

Puig is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

The series finale between the Brewers and Reds is set for 12:35 p.m. EST, so manager David Bell will merely give Puig some rest coming off a night game. Puig, who has gotten off to a 3-for-15 start to his Reds career, will be replaced in the outfield by Matt Kemp.

I think I'd have to put that on Castillo. Lefty hitter up, Votto's not covering bag especially against slow runner. Castillo just looked over, he should have seen Votto wasn't on bag. Unless Votto departed after he looked over...

solid point. and even if votto did forget, castillo can't freeze like that. just lob the ball over to first base so you don't get called for the balk. easier said than done when you turn to fire to first base ... and your first baseman is asleep at the wheel. but he still needed to have the quick-thinking ability to just lob the ball over there.

I was not really that serious because I think Scott can be an above average hitter and has shown that. However he looks bad hitting. Can get into Jay Bruce like slumps and bad habits. I'm hoping Bell just kind of wanted to limit his starters for their first game out of Spring. Since this is Castillo's second start, he's giving him a big of a longer leash. I'm hoping we see more reasonable managing like this instead of the constant overmanaging of the first few games.

Here’s a theory, but it seems like the thousandth year in a row they’ve come out of the gate hitting extremely cold, it’s basically annual tradition at this point. I’m not really sure when this started, but I’m kind of wondering if this has something to do with them moving spring training out to Arizona? I have no idea what the difference would be, aside from maybe the climate in Florida is a little more similar to Cincinnati than it is in Arizona so they’re getting acclimated to the wrong thing?

Just a theory I pulled out of my ass, I don’t know.
