I’d really like to see Winker hitting lower down the order. Struggled last year leading off and struggling this year leading off. He had a lot of success when he first came up and last year when hitting further down the order. Guess that makes too much sense though.

One issue is Reds don’t really have a lead off hitter other than Winker. Schebler did pretty well there last season, I’d use him, but he certainly isn’t a prototype lead off man. Peraza is too much of a free swinger..

Reds had back-to-back-to-back homers for the first time since May 21, 2012 when it was Mike Leake, Zack Cozart and Drew Stubbs

Lol I have a feeling that hottest of takes of yours is going to follow you around for awhile. I’m guessing you will continue to rationalize it in different ways. It’s the new American way of doubling down on ridiculous statements.

So now you’re celebrating after 2 good AB’s by calling out a guy who was calling for a demotion after 26?
Solid.

Or he’s lost focus. An 11 run cushion can do that.

How can Castillo be tired? Lack of focus which is a Reds pitcher DNA component

Because I'm paranoid: has anyone seen Votto in the dugout since he was pulled? I'm always a tad nervous when someone gets pulled after a HBP, even if they run the bases afterwards.

Saying a player should be demoted to AAA after 26 at bats is a ridiculous statement and it deserves to be ridiculed.

The Reds have been shut out four times in ten games. They have 14 runs on 16 hits tonight. I’d say most of the guys are getting a nice bounce against the weak competition.
Very timely. Saved bus fare to Louisville.

It’s professional baseball. A triple A team can beat the New York Yankees once on any given day. Chalking up the Reds big night tonight to “weak competition” is well, weak.

Jose Urena isn’t great, but the Reds have struggled against far worse pitchers than him in the last week and a half. Jordan Lyles immediately comes to mind.
I’m not giving the Marlins all the credit for tonight’s explosion. The lineup is probably going to be pretty good.

Reds beat a terrible team with Reds having a huge pitching advantage. Undeniably true. It’s a win, it counts, I’ll take it. But it’s true.
