I may have a slightly different order, but I really like this lineup overall offensively. I like Casali's bat better than Barnharts, and I like almost anyones over Schebler currently.

I guess it is a step forward that he’s playing, but I think it could be helpful just in general for Bell to let these guys settle in some. To me, as much as Dusty’s lineups were (rightfully) criticized, he let guys settle into their spots in the lineup and I get the feeling that’s one of the things he did in terms of being able to push all the right buttons at times seemingly.

I think Votto had in his mind that a while back he was forced out at 2nd when a pop dropped in right field and was not going to have that happen again. I think he knew there were no outs and he especially didn't wasn't to ruin an inning by being forced out at 2nd again on a ball hit in the outfield.

I just think he was being aggressive because the team has trouble scoring runs. Close game. But the judgment on that play was lacking.

No, he just gave up because he committed too far. Still would have been nice to see him atleast turn around and make an effort. Hes lucky the ball didnt get away and make it even more embarrassing for him. Just one of the things you have to live with. Hes always been an awful baserunner.
