as of today the Reds have allowed the fewest numberof runs (99) in the majors.

This is the day Mahle turns things back around! He's pretty good for being the weak link in the rotation, but he's definitely been that since his first start.

Bell must read RedZone....following my rule of if Schebler is in the lineup, then Casali should be in the lineup. It seems like Puig could use a day or two off. Syndergaard has got lit up (per his standard) in recent outings....hopefully we can get one more in before he gets straight.

Unless the Reds use at least 6 pitchers today, I think a pitcher will go down so Senzel can come up.

Probably not. My interpretation of the moves yesterday meant that it's just Senzel replacing Ervin. (not what I would do)

I think the rule is that if the ball hits the dirt then you get a new ball from the ump automatically, and the other ball is tossed back to the dugout for inspection.

Yeah, but you'd think a guy would try to hook his pitcher up once in a while with a nicely scuffed ball. Worst thing the ump can do is ask for it back.

Are we really going to lose 1-0 because our pitcher grooved one to his counterpart since, you know, he's just a pitcher?

Unless they somehow get Thor out of the game it looks that way.

Mahle has had a penchant for running into trouble in the middle innings this year. Feel like he was just being proactive.

Yes. He was already inefficient just to get through five. Mahle has a lot to learn. But, how is he going to learn it if he doesn't face adversity? Got to keep pushing the expectations on young players.

it's quickly becoming the narrative this season: Last year they could hit but the pitching was garbage. Now the pitching is great and they can't hit.

Reminds one of the 60s Reds.

1962. 1965. 1968. 1969. more offense than pitching.
