There is just no way this isn't on Bell. Just pathetic moves. You don't take out Winker and Dietrich. Just moronic.

I fully expect Peraza to keep his starter role at 2B, regardless of what Chris Welsh says.

when you give up 17 hits and 12 runs to the Giants, the blame falls squarely on the pitching.

Kinsm
05-03-2019, 11:34 PM
He has no problems going through relievers early and often but then when he has a long man in Robert to use he don’t.

Does it matter thought. It’s a collective losing effort by a team still full of players who don’t know how to win.

I've played sports and worked in sports all my life...I for one have never believed a team needs to learn how to win. Simply get better players than the opponent and you're going to win more often than not.

But I swear to god, 40 years of watching this town's teams could convert anyone to that line of thought.

TheBigLebowski

David Bell makes me miss Dusty Baker. At least when he pulled off the choke job of a lifetime against SF, we won a division first and did it in the playoffs

Kc61
05-03-2019, 11:36 PM
Whatever happens, Bell should have lifted Peralta before four runs were allowed in the sixth.

To me, that was the critical inning.

If you have a quick hook, use it consistently. Don’t allow one reliever to give up four in an inning.

For some odd reason... that felt like the season to me. The Cards and Pirates both lost. We had our prospect finally come up. A chance to move within 6 games. We go up 8-0 and blow it. All morale on the team must be at an all time low. Votto 0-7??? Listen, I’ve never bought in to the Votto is washed up talk, but tonight made me really worried. I wont even begin to talk about the managing either, I’ll let you guys do that. But D***. Just sick to my stomach. And I’m usually an optimist about the reds.

Nope not after tonight, if you can't win a game up by 8 runs then you aren't going to do anything when it matters if it ever gets to that point(it won't). This team is done and will be blown up at the trade deadline and we will have to rebuild the offense from the ground up. We have three decent foundational pieces in Geno, Winker, and sSnzel but that's it for the future offense.

I admit I didn't watch every minute of this game but did Thom and Chris ever correct their "error" that the 4th inning play by Giants SS Crawford was indeed an error and not a FC? They claimed that it was scored a FC. I wanted to scream at them through my tv. You can't have a FC if the ball is never thrown to a base. The score box shown on FoxSports kept showing 2 errors for the Giants when in fact it was three. The official scorer is right next to them and they're on a first name basis with him. Tell me, how can these two guys screw something like this up? Here's the official box score from MLB:

Losses like this can define a season. If this is true then its going to be one long last four months and another 90+ loss season. This is what happens when you tank and develop a losing mentality. It's very hard to ever get the right players to regain that winning mentality. This franchise is still just in a very pathetic state.
