The splits say Barnhart's hitting .151 vs RHP and .273 vs. LHP.

Not saying I agree with it but I think it is what Bell seems to be saying. Besides thats an insanely small sample size you referenced (11 AB's vs lefties). His career numbers say the opposite.

Maybe. I could be wrong and came in here away from the tv so I didn't watch it back anyway. But it certainly not only appeared to be a strike but also appeared to be squarely inside Fox's strike zone- for whatever that's worth. At any rate it's frustrating no doubt for Joey but also as a fan of Joey because it was again one of those unsure half swings on a pitch with two strikes that was too close to let go anyway, probably. Particularly with the inconsistency of umpires today and with all the talk of him not getting the borderline calls anymore.

Highlights of the 1912 season:

The Reds were 75-78 (4th in the NL)

Leading hitters:

Wouldn't call that a "nice bounce back inning" from Roark. He's pitched respectably against a great offensive team today as it is. Yes the walks have hurt. But one run innings is at least limiting the damage. Thom needs to be looking for a nice bounce back inning from the offense.

You did nothing to personally upset me. I have made comments to others before when they are already defeated after 3 innings. They just split 6 games against 2 tough teams although I think the Cubs get overrated.

I have seen the BRM get shutout about 4 times in 7 games back in 1973 and look just as bad hitting.

The 1989 Reds with Larkin. Sabo. Davis and Paul O got shutout 3 games in a row.

This isn’t something rare or out of comprehension that an offense can struggle badly in the history of baseball.
