Not sure I’d use that car crash after what the Cards have been through. I know there was no ill intent on your end, just seems a bit off

And I wish we’d let Winker start vs more lefties. He has a chance to be an everyday player but not if he doesn’t get at bays.

Maybe platooning is the new market inefficiency.

It's a small sample size this year, but Winker's .385 OPS vs. LHP doesn't exactly scream for more playing time. His approach against lefties hasn't looked very good, either. Bell has picked his spots to give Winker some PA's vs. LHP, and he will continue to do so (as Winker is a part of the future), but until he shows some improvement it doesn't bother me when Winker isn't in the lineup vs. southpaws.

The reason for this is because Nick Senzel hits the ball with some authority. Jose Peraza has one of the lowest average exit velo's in baseball. He rarely hits the ball hard. His babip is his own fault.

Moderate K rate can (although doesn't always) indicate aggressive swings at pitches the batter thinks he can drive. Peraza low K rate and exit velocity indicate he isn't looking to drive the ball but rather connect with it and hope it falls in somewhere.

I think he was selling out for power early and now hes trying to make more contact but his ability to hit to the opposite field has vanished. He constantly pops up to right field or second base. His average launch angle is 19% which is absurd for someone who can run but doesnt hit the ball very hard. Hes all kinds of messed up at the plate this year.

I recall in Little League All Stars, we had one of those kids that simply matured much quicker than everyone else.....so most of his at bats easily would clear the 150'-200' feet fence. So teams just began to intentionally walk him every time....and I recall he would hold the bat upside down by the barrel when standing there.

The league really has adjusted to Castillo. They just aren't chasing. He needs to be more aggressive early in counts to fix that. Cant keep falling behind or they just wont chase the change up below the zone. Nice job limiting the damage though.

I agree a little. He’s gonna have to make some adjustments, but the fact that he’s still limiting the damages just shows the potential he has.

Zero appearances at catcher this season. (1 last year, and 3 in 2017.)

However, he has more appearances in the minor leagues at catcher than any other position. He caught 29 games at AAA Oklahoma City last year, and in 2017 he caught 32 games at OKC and 19 games at AA Tulsa.
