the rangers will prove to be a crappy team by the end of the year. the reds just need to play better. gave 2 runs away in the first inning last night. gave another run (so far) away tonight.

Pitching hasn't even been that bad outside of Wandy, but the defense is letting in runs that have no business coming across and the offense is indeed non-existent.

I'm sure he's not an every day player. The question is whether he's a 5th OF who should have a big league career or a career minor leaguer stashed at AAA who rides the shuttle when there is an injury or some other short term shortage. I think he's the latter.

Real nice outing for Roark. Deserved even better. If nothing else, he may be setting himself up as an attractive trade piece for July, but I wouldn’t be upset if he was back with the Reds either.

June is when you realize what you have or what is working. You start looking at ways to improve. They were more pro active in April and May.

Sadly untill our hitting coach drags him in front of a monitor and has the guts to ask him what tge heck is he doing changing his stance and why his hands are so low or asking him if he is hurt and cant swing normally, then tgis is all we get the rest of his contract. Ughhhhhhh

I've always figured...right or wrongly...that they're pretty much hands-off with Votto. That he does his thing. And until recently, he corrected course when he needed to.

There isn't one reason to explain all of their problems, but one of their glaring problem is that they seem unable or unwilling to make adjustments at the plate based on what the pitcher is throwing. They seem to often have a plan that has nothing to do with what pitches that they're being thrown. When that plan doesn't work, which is most of the time, they aren't adjusting.

The Reds have gone from 4th last year to 11th in OBP this year in the NL. Hitters seemed to get better under Long but many have regressed under Ward. Not sure if it is fair to blame him but when the whole team starts to change you have think it is the coach. I mean I am giving credit to Johnson for the pitching improvement and that may not be fair either.

Winker has never played a full season. Vanmeter is a rookie. Farmer has about 200 career plate appearances. Peraza and Schebler have a good year, maybe two with Peraza. Dietrich is a 250 bitter who swings for the fences and is having year so nothimg is wrong with him. Tucker is a career 250 hitter. It’s just a group of players who overall have no long track record that would lead me to be surprised. Nobody picked this team to make the playoffs.
