8 hitting from the right side + Votto.
Maybe that's a good recipe to beat Lester.

Absolutely ridiculous to have Scooter, Winker, and Dietrich all on the bench. Iglesias is ops'ing .657 vs LHP and has hit 5th 3 games in a row. Farmer is crushing LHP this year so today seems like a good time to give him a start.

Putting Scooter out there for a third straight day against a leftie just coming off an injury would be pushing it. Winker or Dietrich I wouldn't mind in the lineup however.

Agreed. Farmer should at least get the nod over Peraza at 2B. Casali hitting 9th also makes zero sense to me.

Lol at Peraza. Bell should be fired just for playing him too much. We can’t waste games by putting Scooter on the bench. He needs to play and get at bats so we can trade him. Putting a trade chip on the bench who hasn’t played all year is stupid. People need to see him play and everybody has seen enough of Peraza.

LOL.
You can ignore stats, but I don't think MLB managers do. Including Bell.
Gennett is blue chip trade bait? Coming off a major injury? He will have plenty of time to show that he can regained his form from last year. Don't push Scooter, he hasn't looked great at the plate in Games 1 and 2. PS== Scooter 2/13 vs Lester (.154/5 Ks) And I love Scooter as a Red.

The Reds aren’t going to sign Scooter and his only use to the Reds is trading him. The fact that he hasn’t looked good suppprts my argument. He needs at bats.

The 1936 Reds were 74-80, and finished fifth in the NL. The Reds were managed by Chuck Dressen.

On Tuesday, June 30, 1936, the Reds were off, though I suspect it might have been a rainout. On Monday, June 29 and Thursday, July 2, the Reds had home games vs. the Cubs, but 6/30 and 7/1 had no game.

The 6/29 lineup (a 4-3 win vs. the Cubs at Crosley Field):
Kiki Cuyler cf
Lew Riggs 3b
Ival Goodman rf
Les Scarsella 1b
Babe Herman lf
Gilly Campbell c

Yes, but he should have been more than halfway to 2nd when the ball was missed and rolled to the wall -- plenty of time to make it to 3rd. I figured he either was trying to tag up at 1st, or more likely, turned his head and retreated and missed seeing the non-catch.

Swinging in the batting cages before Wednesday’s game versus the Los Angeles Angels, Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart felt pain on the right side of his body and immediately knew it was a serious injury.

You're not always going to be rewarded with great results from correct decision making. But that works itself out over the course of the season, and the numbers would.indocate that Bell is largely making good decisions on bullpen. He used the same logic today, but it obviously blew up.

That said, it's not like he just took Desclafani out for no reason. He removed him for a pinch hitter in an RBI situation with the chance to pad the lead. I'm sure the win expectancy with Winker at the plate goes up, especially when you consider that the Reds bullpen has been so good
