As far as I can tell, June 2nd is the last time he didn't start in a game. He's played 12 games in the last 12 days. After the off day tomorrow, the Reds don't have another one until August 7th. After that, no off day until August 22.

Seems like they're looking at the bigger picture here.

It's a tough call for sure. If they win without him, it works out fantastic. If they lose, you'll wonder if they could have won with him in the lineup. But either way the thinking seems to be that they want him in the lineup every day in August and it's better to roll the dice here than have a totally worn out Suarez by mid-August.

One doesn't have to agree with it, but there's certainly a logic to it.

Agreed. Two days can really alleviate some general soreness and dead legs much more than 1. Just hate to see it when we’ve won a few in a row and going for the sweep of a division rival, and the dude is hot as the sun.

The Brewers are in the thick of the race for the NL Central yet they gave Yelich the day off on Monday. Yelich is also in a race with Ballinger for MVP.

Maybe the Brewers and the Reds are looking at the big picture, resting their big guns for a run down the stretch.

just don't get sitting suarez. the brewers must have done backflips when they saw that.

geno is the hottest hitter in baseball right now, and was just thrown out of a game in the first inning less than a week ago (which was basically a day off for him). unless he is nursing a minor injury, bad idea imo to give him a day off when he's scorching hot and the reds are going for a sweep over a divisional foe who is ahead of them in the standings.

Two things: I think just to be sure Senzel should have an MRI. The other thing is that maybe he could be suffering from a form of anxiety attack. They too can cause sudden dizzyness among other symptoms. I had them on occasion in my younger years and can include symptoms of dizzyness, weakness in the knees, sweaty or shaky palms and queasiness in the stomach. It can be easily treated now. Definitely hope it's not vertigo. It can be debilitating and tricky to treat.

They might activate Kyle Farmer, who should be close to being ready to coming off the DL.

'87 is the year they went to the World Series....lost to I think the Twins? They won in '82 and Ozzie, Herr and McGee was on that team.

And '85 was the year they went to the World Series and lost to the Royals.

They lost the 1985 WS to the Royals. That was the year that Don Denkinger blew the call at 1st base.
