August has not been kind to him. 0 walks 22%k rate .219/.219/.250 for a .469 ops. He just needs to adjust to how they are pitching him especially righties. Could be lingering injuries too. I think he is improving in the OF.
He is like the rest of the team in that they need to improve their baserunning as a team.

The thing is, he knew it was a strike. Actually it appeared to be outside of the box on the screen, but I saw a couple of nights ago Norm Chortleton claiming those aren't aligned perfectly straight or center. But regardless he dropped the bat and turned back to the dugout right away like he knew he'd struck out. Frustrating to be sure.

And even going back to the discussion from a couple of nights ago about not swinging at ball four, it gets very frustrating to see Votto look at strike three in critical situations again and again. You could almost make an argument that it was that very plate appearance that killed the Reds momentum in the first game of the series. Of course, Hernandez made sure to put the nail in the coffin.
