There’s a reason Peraza has played in more games this season than Iglesias. Iglesias pretty much useless.

I really hope Wood kicks it in for the rest of the season, and re-ups with the Reds.

Then if they could go out and acquire a second quality LH starter, the rotation would be very solid.

If they continue to count on Disco and Mahle, I just don't think they'll have the horses to make the playoffs.

I bet Farmer and Rendon were expecting Votto to throw home. Nope I'm wrong , they just showed the replay and Farmer never got out from behind the plate. Once Votto threw it to 2nd, Iggy should have been charging the throw and trying to make the tag sooner.

I'd bet if Brandon Phillips would have been playing first base, he'd have been on top of it and whipped the throw home in short order, which would have caught Farmer out of position.

Big Klu

I don't think they would have been able to get the runner at the plate -- Robles runs too well. And I don't think they could have gotten a 3-6-3 DP, either. The only way they could get two outs was the way they did -- unfortunately, the runner crossed the plate before the tag was made at 2nd.

Yes. A 3-6-3 DP would have been a force out at both bases, and the run would not score. But I don't think they could have turned it that way in time. IMO the only way they could have gotten the DP was the way they did it, 3-6 with a tag at 2nd.

Or it might be time to realize he’s a rookie going through a slump and let him work his way out of it on the field. He’s a likely cornerstone player for this team for the next 5-6 years. Panicking because he’s going through a small slump in August in a season that is over (sorry folks, it’s over), is a bad idea.

Outfielder made a great throw.

Yes, Peraza should expect that and do the very best he can to evade the tag in the event he makes that great throw several feet wide of the base.

Great throw for sure. That was an awful slide though. Basically slide in the best way to optimize getting out. Still, I guess you have to be aggressive when the team is hitting so poorly. If they can get into the pen maybe they can make some noise again.

Just like Farmer has got to expect Votto to try to make a great play to nail the runner at home in the first inning and get up in front of the plate in case he does.

For those who have been holding out hope for a playoff berth, you don't get to face Erick Feddes and Joe Rosses in the playoffs.

Oddly, it's those guys who worry me more when you see the daily pitching matchups more than the studs. It seems like the Reds put together better ABs against bigger-name pitchers.
