The combiination of

1) being short a reliever because of Garrett
2) Romano not being able to pitch tomorrow because of how many pitches he threw today
3) The fact he was terrible

Means he will almost certainly go down tomorrow in favor of another reliever.

Of course you hoped for the best, as did I. The fact of reality still has to come into play and after seeing the same up and down inconsistent year I'm just surprised how many people bought into this team still being a contender this late into the season. I'm still here, watching and hoping but also understanding that this ain't the year again unfortunately. At least they made some strides and are making moves to try and improve. I'll take that over the last 5+ years, that's for sure.

I was right from the get go. This team was nowhere near ready to compete. The rebuild was rushed and it was easy to see this roster had multiple holes.

The rebuild is over. It didn't particularly work and now they're trying to make a direct leap into contention. It's not an ideal situation, but your insistence that they do the rebuild again isn't really any better.

But also, right from what get go? You leaned into this whole bit only after the season was underway.

You guys here just have a losing mentality.
And I never, ever, called the Braves honest. Innovative? Yes. Did they cheat? Absolutely. But who cares? Nobody got hurt and they got it rolling.

2. Do you read any thread? Do you see everyone disagreeing and arguing about every single thing about this team from the front office down to the best and worst mascots (Rosie and Gapper, respectively)? I’ve ripped in them. Especially the way the farm system development was run. You’ve just gone after everything and run it into the ground. Being a Pollyanna who never sees anything wrong is bad but so is the comments that make you sound like you just came here after hanging out in Braves and or Cardinals boards.

I’d rather improve the draft position now. I know that’s anathema to many but it makes no difference to the health of the franchise if we finish 78-84 instead of 72-90. However, 72 wins gives us a better pick.
