if you think this is bad ... just wait until you see the bengals. they're headed for 4-12.

I quit on the NFL over the knee incidents and haven't seen a game in two years. My attention is on college and high school. I have also filled the NFL gap with hockey

I'm more energized by this season than the past few, even if this team isn't going to the playoffs.

Cleveland looks like it has a legitimate chance to do sumthin this season.

I know there are a few of us here that carbon-date to an era before Bengals came into being, when Reds fans were Browns fans, too.

It appears to me some folks know more about football than they know about baseball.

I've never been into football much. Baseball is my game. Although I've gotten more into Hockey the past few years. We are about 2hrs from Nashville, so go to some preds games.

I love the Preds. Unfortunately, when you have to buy 4 tickets it gets pricey. No 4 for $48 like the Reds have.

Poor guy. You’ve been had by Bob C and the FO. Their short term moves failed. The future of the team was weakened with nothing to show for it.
I guess it worked for him(Bob C) though.

Better than a 9:30 am cocktail.

I'm not exactly known as the most positive guy round these here parts, but you make me look like Little Orphan Annie.

This is same old, same old for Reds fans. We've been going through this for many yrs now.

Like you, I'm looking forward to college and maybe a little HS football. The Bengals will be horrible. I'm putting the over/under at 3 wins. First week at Seattle will be ugly.

I am pretty pumped about the college game, not so much about the NFL anymore. I will still watch it, but if I had to choose it would be college all the way.

I will still watch the Bengals, probably catch all the games to some extent, but I won't work my schedule around it like I used to. Something about the NFL has grown stale for me, and I don't really know what it is.

The NFL has been nerfed, like everything else.

the patriots

Eh, the Patriots could be part of it and the Bengals having a down few years could be a part of it as well. It may be Pats fatigue, but I also had Manning fatigue as Peyton's career dwindled down. Truth be told life and kids tend to reset things.

But I just am not as excited about fantasy football this season either. There are a lot of things about football that concern me. You have on the field stuff like CTE and physical impairments as the players age. But you also have things like the officials having a drastic impact in the game that I don't think was there a few years ago. Heck a lot of it goes back to the playoff meltdown a few years ago. Not just the way the Bengals melted down, but everything that happened. The vicious hits, the taunting of Bengals players, the officials seeming to look the other way, etc. For many its THE NFL IS BACK! For me is, ok it gives me something to watch on a lazy Sunday.
