looks like the same exact pitch got VanMeter and Votto

I was not as excited as many about signing Castellanos...I was pleased, but not overly. I am getting more excited...I have noticed he just makes solid contact look fairly easy in the few bats I have watched.

Sonny looked good.

Very sharp.

One second later gives up a hit.

Is that hat David Bell has on new this year?

nm, looked it up...new for spring training this season....I like it

wish the Reds would try to lock up some guys like Castillo and Senzel this spring....

Colon with a RBI Double!

why don't they have the nets up in spring training down the baselines like they do in MLB stadiums?

Filthy pitch, Bob Steve.

Quick, easy inning for Stephenson.

That was nice to see. I'd love to see Stephenson have a great year.

Ervin has been getting solid contact so far this spring.

Is Mark Payton this year's "he did really well in ST so he made the roster" pick?

Is Mark Payton this year's "he did really well in ST so he made the roster" pick?

Only if there are injuries. Hard to see him breaking camp with the club if Senzel is healthy.

For those that care, Votto has been choking up today.

Is Mark Payton this year's "he did really well in ST so he made the roster" pick?

He's more like "He's a Rule V guy so he'll get a lot of opportunity to make the team." You have to realize that teams don't just play these guys because they think they will make the team. Other clubs watch these players and you might be able to work a trade for a player or two.

I wasn't very clear with my comment. It was more of a joke about how often spring training performance gets mistaken for actual talent.

I am so excited to see Castellanos hit all season.

India K's swinging. He's looked overmatched so far this spring.

Another AB by India in which it looked like he had no clue what was happening.

Ron Madden

Cody Reed now pitching

While Garcia looks like he'll be up sooner than later, India is the opposite.

First time Reed pitched since like May, right? Seems like he deserves a little slack.

NebraskaRed

Thanks to MLB TV for letting us relive Thom's weird pronunciation of Aquino's name last year.

You know what I mean, where he was kinda gurgling the name? Or whatever that was.

Tom Servo

I know it's nominally sweet but that story about Thom meeting two brothers going on an airplane for the first time is still weird to me. I'm picturing two lads with blonde crewcuts saying "yessir" to everything.

And people were unhappy last year when Castillo was give the opening day start after a horrible spring. I realize Castillo had a track record, but it's the first few games of spring.

You just saw the reason the Reds didn't pay a King's Ransom for Lindor. He's our Lindor of the future and that future might be here sooner than you think

Siri drills one off Reed. Good thing we dropped him.

I thought that was stupid at the time and I still feel that way. Scott Schebler should have been the one jettisoned due to options left and ability to play CF (Siri)

Really liking what I am hearing about Garcia. Wouldn't it be nice to see a prospect make meteoric rise through the system and force his way onto to the team?

Also am liking this middle of the lineup. Its looking like a real big league batting order.

Gray did look good in this outing. He and Castillo are going to be a really good one-two punch at the top of the rotation.

Totally different situations and the comparison is a bit disingenuous.

Cody Reed is coming off an injury lets pump the breaks for a few games before we kick him to the curb.
