The Tigers suck!

Thankfully they'll suck tomorrow too.

Great win. Happy Opening Day!

Gray. Without question.

I'm leaning toward the moose because he had the diving grab with no outs in a key inning. The moose is loose ppl

This team already looks seasoned like they've been playing together for years. So many weapons to rely on. This is going to be fun. Go Reds!

According to Trent, Castellanos went and stood in right field after the game and is apparently still there?

He's working with the outfield coach.

That's pretty cool right there.

Got in my room to see the the last few innings. Missed Votto's HR, though. Saw the Moose. Lots of performances that were noteworthy. This team is so different than any team we've seen in years, at least today. Looking forward to more, but my next game to see will be Sunday. Funeral tomorrow.

Jeff Pickler has the m pitching machine up to send fly balls to Castellanos in right field. It's 9:24, more than a half-hour after the game

Would he have done that had he not been taken out of the game late?

Need to ask this again, because I have clearly let an important detail slip, were they calling balls and strikes electronically tonight?

I wasn't sure they'd gotten the system in place. If they didn't, that was the best job of calling balls and strikes in history. But I feel like it must have been a gift from our new robot overlords. And I'd just like to say thank you for that.

No automated strike zone tonight that I know of

Reds bullpen with 3 hitless innings.

Pretty good for a “ margin thin bullpen”.

I didn't think so, but then Larry Vanover didn't miss a pitch. Had it down to the millimeter.

He's working with the outfield coach.

I think Castellanos is going to improve his defense and be just fine. He's not slow like some lumbering slugger along the lines of Mark Trumbo, Pete Incaviglia, Richie Sexson or even Jesse Winker. Senzel will end up being above average in CF. If they can limit Winker and Ervin to DH, the defense will be plenty good enough IMO.

This bullpen.....yeeeesh. Gonna be a major struggle all season and big weakness on this team

I saw this quote and thought they already allowed some runs or were close to blowing the lead. Yet nothing even remotely close to that happened and you’re already whining over nothing before the bullpen even had an inning in during the first game of the season?

Not to mention that the Tigers got to see Sims/Jones/Raley last night.

It's not like they were seeing the best we have to offer there.

Yet considered by fangraphs to be one of the top bullpens in the league.

Fangraphs ranked them 15th out of 30. With 16 play-off teams, that should be good enough to make the play-offs. Of course almost every team that isn't tanking is going to make it.

The bullpen didn't give up a hit in 3 innings.
