I have said this before.....it is the one part of baseball as a spectator I do not understand....and I assume it is because I never competed in the sport at a high competitive level. I quit playing organized baseball when I was 16 years old, and pitchers began throwing pitches that were not basically limited to fastballs. In basketball, guys have bad games....same in football....but guys do not forget how to shoot in basketball or catch in football for weeks at a time. I just do not understand when they say "he was seeing the ball so good last week", which suggests he no longer is seeing the ball well....why? His vision did not change...he was facing multiple pitchers during the time when he was seeing the ball well....what happened?

Moderation has always been looser in the game threads. I think the theory is that it gives people a place to react and vent without carrying emotion threads over to the main board. The game threads can be tough to read or a joy depending on the day. The lack of a Play by play person this year makes it tough to use the thread to follow for those of us that can't watch the games themselves.

The lack of a Play by play person this year makes it tough to use the thread to follow for those of us that can't watch the games themselves.We've never overly moderated the game thread forum for this reason; additionally, it'd be a serious challenge to moderate posts that are practically happening in real time. We have, however, contacted a couple folks that are consistently being over reactionary and asked that they tone it down. If you continue to see a pattern of this from anyone, you are free to report it for moderator review.
