He pitched in two separate games yesterday.

I thought he just pitched 2/3 in the first game.

Ball 7....the ump giving him 2 outside pitches forced him to swing on what was clearly ball 4

It always pains me to say this about Amir as he’s the coolest guy on the team.

But as a pitcher he's more sizzle than steak.

Yes have to on paper like that duet with Castillo being able to get through against the Bucs.

Dare we try and win 5 straight?!

That outing was uncalled for, Garrett. Also, funny to watch this thread explode with stress posting in the last five minutes

I get the sense Bell and Johnson realize this. Amir hasn't really been a top choice for many high leverage situations this year.

No, Bell didn't do anything wrong IMO. Not sure what you're referring to?

This season (and the year 2020) hasn’t been easy on the nerves. Stress is never far from the surface.

So, 0.5 game back after tonight, assuming Brewers hold onto their 10 run lead? Don't tease us like this, Reds.

Love Lorenzen, hopefully he found a new home in the rotation.

Tonight was an object lesson in "Hey, maybe Reds' decision makers know more than us fans, afterall." Based on my eyeballs, I would have much rather seen Antone or Sims get an emergency start, and my jaw dropped when Bell said "This isn't a bullpen game, this is a full blown start for Lorenzen." [Certain "performance artists" with strong opinions about a particular outfielder might do well to at least consider learning from this object lesson. Ahem.]

Nothing in the public record indicated that Lorenzen was the best choice to deliver 3 innings, much less that he could last 5 in good shape. But hey, there's all the evidence you need. Good call by the Reds, even better performance by Lorenzen, and I guess I'll go ahead and take a sip of the Kool-Aid and put him in the discussion for a rotation spot.

Garrett may not be ready to move beyond 7-8 inning and pitcher to use vs lefties. He sometimes has control problems and then elevates pitches in the zone.

I probably would not vote for more Lorenzen starts. Great work today, but I thought the Pirates generally had good swings on him and just didn’t do much. Polanco was a saviour tonight. A better team might have hit him around tonight.

Agree, but they may need to use Lorenzen for one more start. Wish Gray could get activated soon.

Similarly, I’d try to avoid many more Garrett save attempts. Two closers should be enough going forward.

He pitched in two separate games yesterday.

He must be barnstorming then, because he only pitched one game for the Reds.
