With all that is going on, I completely forgot about starting this up for the college football season. And we're going into week 3 (lol). I know some conferences either aren't playing, or have yet to make a final determination ... SEC comes back next week, and the B1G late next month .... but if there is the interest, let it be known here, I'll start one up for next week.

Nice try! There's no schools in WV! LMAO On a serious note ... I'm pretty diverse in my scheduling, utlizing ALL conferences, not just the Power 5. I look primarily at matchup and competiveness. I only utlize point spreads if it's an uneven matchup, posibly a blow out.

I'll have the schedule out this afternoon ..... after golf. First things first!

I apologize for not having this up yesterday. All I'm gonna say is that it was a long day (LOL). We obviously can't do the B1G until it starts, so we'll just go with "Weekly National Games" for now.

There will be a mixture of games played two ways ... 1) straight up (simply pick winner or loser), and 2) point spread. In order to particpate, one must play the entire weekly schedule. Those games designated as "point spread" games will have the spread in bold parentheses next to the favored team forfeiting points. And I will add .5 to any point spread that is a whole number in order to avoid ties.

When you post your weekly picks, please proof-read to make sure you've made (highlighted, etc) your picks for all games. We try to be alert on here and help each other out (PM, etc) when someone omits making a pick for a game. But it's still your responsibility. If you forget to make a pick for a game(s), and don't make the necessary correction on here prior to that game - it will go down as a loss.

But this is entirely for fun and enjoyment.

Thank God for good ol' college football. Fall's here, leaves are turning, and it's nice to be able to sit back on a Saturday and watch games!

There were seven point spread games this week. Five teams didn't make the spread, an two of those lost the games outright ... and quite badly (LOL) with a couple upsets in Oklahoma and LSU. The Cincinnati-Army game came down to the .5 I add to prevent a tie. So if you picked Army you squeaked one in.

I'll get next week's schedule up ASAP. If certain games get postponed I appreciate the call-outs on here, and I'll try to keep a better eye on it. But it'll all work out in the end (lol).

And if someone missed last week, and wants to get in this thing, you're more then welcome.

I heard or read someone claim the only real difference between the shark/professional sports gambler and the average fan is about 10ish%....as in the pro is doing good to hit over 55% over a period of time and an average fan can often hit in the 45% range over time. After you build up enough capital to wage enough....hitting at 55%-60% will allow you to remain a "professional"....anything less likely requires you to have a real job.

Another wild week of college football (lol). I realize it's very early (2 games) for the B10; but that was a completely different MSU team that played yesterday vs Michigan. Michigan's secondary is their Achille's Heel, and Lombardi lit them up yesterday. And WR Wright was amazing. Those weren't the easiest catches, and this kid has some concentration. I don't understand the logic of Harbaugh pulling Milton ... but I don't care, Michigan lost (lol).

But I thought, again, there were some good games (watching-wise) in the B10. Besides the OSU and Michigan games, I enjoyed watching the Iowa-NW game, as well as Indiana-Rutgers. And I thought the Bearcats looked impressive vs a good Memphis team.

I think the B12 may be playing themselves out of the CFP (lol).

There were 11 PS games this week (4 B10, 7 ONG) ... 6 teams didn't make the spread, and two of those lost the game outright (Minn, MI). So far this season .... 51 point spread games, 28 not making spread (13 of those losing game outright).

Congratulations to Assembly Hall for going a perfect 6-0 in the B1G. He would have also had the best record in ONG at 9-2, but Reds Fanatic came in at 10-1. Congrats to both.

May as well put a blindfold on when picking B10 games (lol). Look at the winners this week. Where's the Big Guys in the conference? Yeah, OSU won their game outright (by 22 pts), but didn't come close to the spread. OSU's run game, as well as their run D, is suspect IMO. You gave up 370 yds to Rutgers!

Solid win for Notre Dame. We got two Indiana teams playing well this year and in the hunt.

Trying to get a feel of the B10 right now is ridiculous. That's what makes your 6-0 even more impressive. Penn State, Wisconsin, both Michigans, are pretty much out of the picture, on both the national and conference scene (lol).

I'm actually enjoying this season with some of the "underdog" programs stepping up. Besides the Hoosiers, the Wildcats are doing well in Fitzpatrick's quiet kind of a way. I really like and respect him as a coach. My lifelong friend, and golfing buddy's nephew started in the defensive backfield for him for 3 years. Can't say enough good things about him as a head coach.

The B10 is just so fun to watch right now. Other then OSU, and maybe Wisconsin, those perennial powerhouses like Michigan, MSU, Penn State, and Iowa, are looking like second, or maybe third, tier teams this year (lol). When I see how Michigan and PSU have been playing - what does that say about those that formulate those pre-season rankings?

One of the reasons why I follow and root for programs like the Hoosiers and Wildcats is because of their head coaches. These guys are class acts. I rushed home yesterday (working on a fixer-upper for brother) so I could see the Indiana game. You will see Fryfoggle in the Pros. That kid's concentration and hands are amazing. I don't know how he caught a couple of those yesterday. The Wolverines are a friggin' train wreck. QB Milton had a QBR of 8.3 yesterday. And when was the last time you saw a Michigan D this bad? If nothing else, they were always known for playing defense. Remember - Harbaugh drafted/built this team (lol)

Last night's matchup between Minnesota and Purdue is a perfect example of how this year it's hard to pick winners and losers week to week in this conference. LOL

Other then Krono, the B10 has pretty much owned us all this year. Week-to-week it's hard to figure out with so many of the established teams (PSU, MSU, Michigan) having bad years. Rutgers takes Michigan to 3OTs? Will the real Minnesota please stand up? After such poor starts, watch them and Iowa go on a run (lol).


There were 8 PS games this week (3 B10, 5 ONG) ... 4 teams didn't make the spread, and one of those (Nebraska) lost the game outright. So far this season .... 74 point spread games, 40 not making spread (17 of those losing game outright).

Each week I try to play game(s) from all the conferences. Last year we had MAC games on quite a bit. This year it's been a fiasco, and they like to play games in the middle of the week which makes it hard to put them on our schedule and for people to have time to submit.

I've pretty much given up on the B10 (lol). Each week you look at the match-ups, consider how the teams did the week before, and also overall this season. You think you're making the right, usually consensus, pick - and just the opposite happens. Wait a minute! This isn't the same team I watched last week! LOL

You think you're making the right, usually consensus, pick

If the "right", consensus pick won/covered all the time, Vegas would go bankrupt. Truthfully, the favorite is where the public puts its money more often than not, but the odds makers are good enough that underdogs and favorites over time each cover about half the time. If there's a weekend where the favorites overwhelmingly cover, the books tend to get killed. But they make it up on the weekends where the underdogs disproportionately cover.

It sucks! This is a young QB who has struggled with injury throughout his brief career at Indiana. I see the talent; but there will always be a "what if?" because of those injuries. I wish Coastal Carolina did not step in for Liberty. They are not getting near playoff consideration, and I expect them to lose to BYU just based on a different level of talent. I think being undefeated would have been more beneficial to the program, and taking an L will knock some sparkle off their amazing season. Maybe I am wrong, and Coastal can compete with BYU.

FYI... the Buffalo-Ohio game was cancelled. There were 9 PS games this week (4 B10, 5 ONG) ... 2 teams didn't make the spread (Wisconsin, Florida) and one of those (Wisconsin) lost the game outright. So far this season .... 93 point spread games, 47 not making spread (21 of those losing game outright).

Impressed with Indiana's performance vs Wisconsin. Their b/u QB Tuttle did alright. And solid defense. They also helped out Northwestern's chances of being in the B10 title game. Wisconsin travels to Iowa next Saturday. If you're a Wildcat fan, then you'll be wanting a Badger victory next Saturday. The Wildcats have Illnois.

Impressed with OSU's O-line play minus three starters yesterday. Watching that b/u Center hike the ball was adventurous to say the least (lol)

I'm glad to see that some of us got over .500 in the B10 (lol). In all the years we've been doing this, I think that's a first as far as that many. Blame it on a screwy year. The .5 I add to the spreads is what gave MSU the victory over PSU and SD State over BYU. That's the 4th time that has occurred this season, and two of those were in Cincy Bearcat games.

There were 6 PS games this week (3 B10, 3 ONG) ... 4 teams didn't make the spread and 3 of those lost the games outright (Nebraska, Penn State, Florida). So far this season .... 99 point spread games, 51 not making spread (24 of those losing game outright).

Next week is the final week of the regular season with the conference championship games, and some make-up games. I don't think we'll see too much variance in the current standings/leaders though, but you never know. We then have the Bowl Schedule.

It appears that there are 3 teams in the state of Indiana that are better than Purdue.

Here are the final regular season standings. Other then a couple of us, THIS WEEK, we didn't go out with a bang that's for sure (lol).

There were 8 PS games this week (3 B10, 5 ONG) ... 5 teams didn't make the spread and 2 of those lost the games outright (Wisconsin, Buffalo). Final tally this season .... 107 point spread games, 56 not making spread (26 of those losing game outright). So I guess it can be safe to say that out of all the games we played this year, approximately 50% didn't make the spread, and 25% of the time the favored team lost the game.

NOTE: As soon as they come out with the Bowl schedule I'll get it posted. But this year, due to the unusual circumstances, we aren't going to play the entire schedule. I'm looking at starting it next Saturday (Dec 26) forward through the CFP. And anyone can particpate. It doesn't matter if one played the regualr season or not. It's again, all for fun.So as soon as the NCAA posts the Bowl Schedule keep checking back.

As usual, it was a lot of fun this year. Certainly needed the "distraction" with all that's going on (lol).

not sure, but I would rather play Tennessee than Army. I almost would rather play Alabama more than Army. WVU's defense is solid, but it has never faced anything close to a triple option which scares me. I respect the hell out of Army, and am even glad that they get to play even if it is against WVU.....but it is a game that if we win nobody will care, but it will not look good if we lose.

Just as an FYI for those picking, WVU's top tackler Senior Inside Linebacker Tony Fields who was 1st team All Big12 is skipping the bowl. In a normal situation, that would not be good....but it could be really bad against a Triple Option team because the linebackers are so much more important. I think the line opened as WVU being a 9 point favorite, but is already down to 7.5 points. The military academies may actually benefit in the future with more guys skipping bowls because I doubt their guys if healthy ever skip a bowl game.

Btw, a lot of speculation out there that UT is kind of using COVID as an excuse because they are terminating Pruitt and their athletic department is under investigation.....just wanted to end the season.
