Whenever I see Cheslor Cuthbert, I am reminded of Gov. Cuthbert H. Humphrey, a minor antagonist in the John Wayne Western/comedy, "McLintock!"

I know that backup 1B is not usually a big deal but it is a bit odd that Cuthbert is getting all the non-Votto starts. Who else would be in the mix for time there? Heineman? Barnhart? Castellanos?

Hmmm. Imagining Schrock as a pinch hitter for Farmer in a key spot with ducks on the pond and less than 2 outs where you need contact to drive in a run against a tough right hand pitcher. Schrock puts the ball in play, runner scores from 3rd. Blandino comes on to replace Farmer in the field next inning. I think Bell needs Blandino and Schrock. But where will Gordon fit?
