Other than the DH, that looks like the opening day lineup to me.

Well, the opening day SP will be Castillo. Obviously I don't think that Finnegan is starting the game on Thursday.

Not that he would be the weirdest choice to start an opening day game...

I know it doesn't matter, but I just have to get it out of my system.

I would flip Cast with Suarez, and India with Barnhart.

3. Joey Votto (L) 1B
4. Nick Castellanos (R) RF
5. Mike Moustakas (L) 3B
6. Nick Senzel (R) CF
7. Jonathan India (R) 2B
8. Tucker Barnhart (L) C

Order looks looks solid overall, though.

Imagine looking at those two lineups and thinking the reds are one of the worst teams in baseball.

That's a very good lineup assuming most play close to their potential.

I'd flip Stevenson and Barnhart

Finnegan is doing very poorly again.

Finnegan is doing very poorly again.

This was probably his make or break appearance.

This was probably his make or break appearance.

I'm guessing he's Louisville-bound.

If you read the news several days ago he was sent down

I guess it's time to admit that I can't read.

I thought he was just sent to "minor league camp".

I thought he was just sent to "minor league camp".

He was already on a minor league deal, so that's all it takes.

I guessing since this is 5 days away from the off day, we won’t see many if any Reds pitchers who would make opening day roster.

Taylor Trammell RBI double...fitting

Barnhart is a mess like usual. Hits into another DP to kill a budding rally. Yuck.

NebraskaRed

Barnhart hits into a double play and the Reds fail to score.

I fear that we'll see that happen far too many times again this season.

Early on, the Mariners starting pitcher is Flexen his muscles.

Bell needs to monitor that quickly and start getting at bats to Stevenson if he's doing ok.

Lodolo with a scoreless frame, striking out a couple.

Votto robbed of what would have been an RBI double.

Might as well pay any BABIP debts now...

Robbed by Dillon Thomas, poet of the outfield.

Votto did not go gently into second base

Votto did hit another fly ball but this time it was dropped and now the game is tied.

Either way, good to see that Votto seems to be warming back up.

Farmer's OPS up to .907, Payton's 1.112

Jose Garcia pinch hits for Aristides Aquino in a bid to get him off of his Spring Training schneid. The move proves both desperate and futile.

One out away from kissing their sister, Blandino grounds to short, but the ball is thrown into the desert and comes to rest behind a cactus plant. Reds have runners on second and third with two out in the bottom of the 9th.
Mark Payton grounds to the pitcher. Will they play extras, or say adios to Goodyear? It's 5 runs apiece.

GO STANFORD CARDINAL BASEBALL.

I'm just glad the Reds made it through spring training without any serious injuries

Tyler Stephenson is ready to call it a preseason. He has whiffed 7 times in his last 12 plate appearances.
