I'm just not sure how they can get any of Winker, Naquin, or Castellanos out of the lineup right now. All three have +900 OPS. Reds are currently second in baseball in outfielder bWAR.

Shogo brings on base skills, good baserunning and awesome defense. Also those two don’t have to be either/or.

Yeah I get where WM is coming from, I have a bit of internal bias where I’d rather see guys with long term Reds futures be getting the playing time and ideally lighting it up. But Naquin is simply hitting way to well to sit him regularly, India/Shogo be damned.

It kinda reminds me of Jerry Hairston Jr from like 2008. Where no one really wanted him, but he just kept hitting and hitting, but a lot of people still didn't want him to play because they knew he was a pumpkin.

Naquin and Shogo are both under control through 2022. I am fine with them taking their time with India, though he should be getting at least 3 starts a week.

Reds just have a glut of interesting position players (other than SS) that will be compounded once Garcia is ready and Votto returns. I would bench Suarez some and get Winker reps at 1B.
