Not a huge Farmer guy. But how can anyone say he shouldn't be playing now? Guy has been really good for 2 weeks now. Ride the hot hand. Just wish he was at SS. Would have like to seen Shogo start but I get why he isn't. Naquin hasn't been bad at all.
I have complained about Farmer playing too much. I have complained about Naquin. Happy to say I have been wrong. Both guys playing very well right now.
I don't get why some can't admit when they are wrong about a player. It is like they keep complaining till the guy goes in a slump so they can say. I told you this guy stinks. I wanna be wrong about every Reds player who I thought would be bad but have been good. I really wanna be wrong about my Hoffman complaints as well.

You were using DRS earlier this year, and using DRS, Suarez is improving. At one point he was at -10 at SS using DRS on Fangraphs. He's now at -5. He's tied with DiDi and is better than Elvis Andrus and Jose Iglesias (of all people).

A week ago I would have agreed but he has played some atrocious defense as of late. Naquin has had a - WPA in 9 of his last 12 games. Shogo has had a - WPA in 6 or his 9 games. And WPA does not factor in defense. Although I question how accurate WPA is... but it's the only daily metric that BA shows, ie it doesn't show bWAR per game.

In his last start, which came Wednesday in Pittsburgh, Sonny Gray (0-2, 3.55 ERA) became the first Reds pitcher in the modern era to throw four wild pitches in a game. He also allowed seven hits, snapping his streak of consecutive regular season starts with six or fewer hits allowed at 48.

Gray, who began the season on the injured list with back soreness, yielded just one run in 4 2/3 innings before being pulled from a game that the Reds eventually won, 5-1, in 10 innings.

The Giants counter with right-hander Logan Webb (2-3, 4.74). Filling in for an injured Aaron Sanchez, Webb struck out a career-high 10 over six-plus innings to help the Giants beat the visiting Texas Rangers, 4-2, on Tuesday.

Webb 24 became the youngest Giants pitcher to register a double-digit-strikeout game since Madison Bumgarner on Sept. 19, 2013, and lowered his ERA to 4.74 after recording his third quality start in his past four outings.
