The line-up looks to me like Bell is trying to incentivize Counsell to use his lefties to face Votto, Naquin, and Barnhart to lessen the chance he uses a lefty against Winker. If Bell would move Suarez above Votto to make two righties between Winker and Votto, it would even further incentivize it.

Actually I think the Runner-on-2nd-nobody-out situation is one of the few times when it’s statistically a good idea to bunt. Getting a runner on 3rd with leas than 2 outs is a big win. Mahle is an .036 hitter. It’s unlikely he’s getting a hit. I’m fine with the call - just didn’t execute and the Brewers made a nice, heads-up play. Such is life.
